Currently as of March 2018, the master chief collection does not allow me to play on Xbox live with a guest in my party. As this is a huge feature of Halo, to play online with your friends over, and has been a tradition since childhood, I hope you can resolve the issue.
currently: tells me you cannot play ranked. THEN try to play nonranked. The game tries to find matches, but then randomly stops.

This is happening with me as well. My friend and I cannot play co-op campaign but we just were a few days ago. I looked for a 343 support number and found nothing but this forum. A little upsetting.
Try MS game support.
I’ve been able to co-op on MCC. all wired connections. Remote and local players as well.
ISP modem is stand alone connected to a router.
Same here. Hope 343 fixes this issue.
