Xbox Live Gold is destroying Halo.

Lets face it. Xbox Live Gold is a huge money scam. Playstation Plus is much cheaper, and you can still do Hulu and Netflix without. Now, I love the Xbox way more than the PS, but this has got to stop. Here are some issues that really make me angry.

Online Multiplayer: Make it free, or make Gold much more reasonably priced. I mean, you already payed for the game. Why should you have to pay more each month just to get the main (and longest lasting) feature?!

Spartan Ops: This is ridiculous. Microsoft took Firefight, a free offline mode, and turned it into something that you need Gold for. I love Spartan Ops, but again, I already payed for the game, why should I have to pay more for a big part of it?

Online vs Offline: Why is your XP intake lowered, and why are Commendations disabled when you are offline? This is such crap.

Hulu & Netflix: Why on earth should I have to pay to use services that I am already paying for? This makes me so mad.

The Death of Halo: Halo is Microsoft’s flagship game. And they are running it into the ground. It is a great game, and 343 is doing well with it, Microsoft doesn’t deserve to own it. Are we going to sit by while an amazing franchise gets run into the ground?!

It is not going to stop on its own. It will just get worse, and worse. Eventually, enough people will stop playing the Xbox, that Microsoft will be forced to shut down the Xbox program, along with Halo and countless other great games.

Also, why is Microsoft not putting Halo on the pc? Here is why, they want to promote their system, even though Halo would be better (for some people, at least) on the pc. That means, when the Xbox series dies, and die it will, Halo will die with it.

Fight Back! Not against 343, but Microsoft itself. Let this message be heard far and wide. If we keep buying Gold, they will keep charging us for things that should be free, and they will keep ruining a beautiful franchise.

I would like a cheaper version of Gold where I can just online game. I don’t care about using Internet Explorer, Netflix, Hulu, and all that other stuff on my Xbox; I have other devices for that.

That was a ridiculous decision on their part. Not much else to be said about that.

Probably because it’d be easy to “cheat” your way through the ranks by playing offline, for example, customizing Firefight so that you’re invincible and just grinding for XP.

The PS4 requires PSN+ to play the majority of online games. The exempt ones are the subscription games that are in a specific program.

Also, PS+ may be cheaper, but PSN goes offline ALL the time. It just went offline again last night. Glad I use my PS3 / PS4 for single player only games.

That idiot idea makes me angry too. Pay for the game, and if you want to enjoy more of it than buy live gold. Nice work MS. Idiot money hungry frim. But I have a bad news for you OP. MS never gonna shut the the Xbox system or the live gold sht just becuse some box user (inlcuding me, only sometimes) don’t buy Live.
Ohh…and I almost forgot about PC. We won’t get Halo on PC, at least not normal Halo like Spartan Assualt, firstly because the free multi, secondly the only thing MS can give us is just its sht op system and other sh*ts.

When my friend decided to go to PS3 he bought CODBO, which he also had for X360. When playing on PS3 we would get host migration at least once or twice every game, never happened on X360. We basically pay more because we have better servers.

When I played Halo multi, there were almost everytime something problem, and my net connection worked/-s perfectly. But that’s just me.

Paying for online in general, whether it be Xbox Live Gold or PlayStation Plus is ridiculous. I honestly can’t believe how it has gone on for this long.

Was curious about this, so I did a little checking:

  • On each respective online store in the price is £39.99 for a 12month / 1 year subscription
  • I can get XBL Gold 12 month cheaper on Amazon than I can PS Plus (between £5 and £10 cheaper)
  • Checking cdkeys.com and XBL Gold is significantly cheaper than PS PlusThe security track record between Sony’s Playstation service and Microsoft’s XBL service shows XBL a quite a bit more resilient. I can’t think of any credible time where the XBL service has been proven to have been breached (details please if this has happened), where PSN was down for a significant length of time after user details were stolen. Both services have suffered downtime and the scale of each service is so massive it would be hard for it to not fall over, but I honestly think XBL does provide the better service. Certainly now more than ever - giving away multiple free games every month, constant deals and savings, rewards schemes and, as noted above, no paywall for digital services now.

Yeah, it’s always worth my money. Free games, online gameplay (never have to pay online for different games like on PC), and more, those things alone make it worth $5 a month.

Ok, if you guys didn’t know I’ll explain it now.

The reason why you have to pay for XBL is based on several things.

  1. Better internet : With XBL you pay Microsoft to keep their servers up and running as well as maintaining them.

  2. Real World Trading : Now this problem is close to impossible to stop, but is preventable to a certain degree. By making XBL a service u have to pay for, it is almost impossible to make 100 profiles and grind them all up to the point where you can sell them for real money. Almost impossible ; you can still do it, but it is probably less profitable.

  3. Overheat : By making it a pay service, it is not possible to make a software to make 1 million profiles per sec and spam the XBL servers, this again shows how xbox has better servers than PSN.
