Hello.
I’ve googled whether Spartan Ops required Xbox Gold and found mixed responses. Is there a definitive answer?
I play Halo for it’s great story and don’t care about the MP. I’d like to just play the Spartan Ops missions each week solo. Is this possible with Silver or do I have to upgrade to Gold to do so?
Thanks.
I’m pretty sure it’s been confirmed that you need to have Gold. Sadly.
Have they revealed exactly how we are playing this content? Is it downloaded to a HDD, or streamed directly from Microsoft/343i’s servers?
If it’s the former, I could just buy a month’s worth of Gold and download all the available missions, then wait 3-6 months and do the same again.
You need Gold. I know it sucks, but there is something you can do.
Halo 4 ships with a 14 day XBL Gold code. If you keep it for some time, and use it once the whole first season is out, you can download it all at once. Just a little tip.

So I could download it when i haz gold then when it runs out I can still play them?

You should be able, but I am not sure.
Sigh. Looks like I’ll be renewing my Gold subscription then. I like to play games multiple times, meaning I’d like to replay Spartan Ops a couple of times.
I do hope they release it on disc at some point in the future though, I hate the idea of losing part of the game in 10 years time, when MS shut down the servers.
'Tis why I have ALL of my DLC backed up on an external hard drive.
