In the Wake of the backlash against BattleFront 2’s pay to win services, shouldn’t we, as gamers be protected?
Why has Microsoft an Sony not said anything directly to the consumer about these pay to win services for online gaming? We pay the service to have online gaming. We should get fair gameplay with that paid service for games we actually pay for. Where are Microsoft and Sony right now? They should ensure their customers are taken care of and that some of EA’s practices are made null and void on Microsoft Gold and PlayStation Plus services. We pay for the online service. We should demand fair gameplay on these services and hold our service providers responsible for ensuring that we have fair gameplay experiences.
Not following the logic on how Microsoft or Sony are in any way responsible for EA’s shenanigans. PSN and XBL are just platforms for games. Whether or not EA’s games conform to any particular player’s idea of fairness is the responsibility of the player to determine. If you don’t like the what EA has done with Battlefront then don’t buy Battlefront. If you already have then sell it back. Or snap it in half and mail it back to EA. The long and short is that we live in a pay-to-play world. How long did you really think gaming could hold out?
Hard to do when they support the stuff. Halo is published by Microsoft and has microTs is one example. Furthermore their live services are there to let you play, not to entertain fair gameplay. You’d be better off looking into the agreements we sign off on upon first playing these games.
