Xbox Game Pass Or Individual Purchase?

Ten-Hut!
Hey Marines, Xbox Game Pass has been out for a while now, so I’d like to know which method of buying your games do you prefer?

  • Do you prefer a Monthly Subscription for your games? (Xbox Game Pass*)* - Or do you prefer the old tried and true method of buying your G****ames Individually? - Or do you prefer a Mix of the two?As always, let me know what ya think!

I currently use both as it is only first party games that release on game pass , or Microsoft published games maybe , they haven’t really been clear on that point. But if I find a game on game pass that I enjoy and feel it doesn’t feed into the negative development practices some companies have resorted to , so as to extend the life of their game or monetize it more heavily, I will go ahead and buy it either physically or digitally. In the current environment games are in , I feel it is especially important to support those I feel are doing it in a consumer friendly manner.

Personally I don’t like online purchases, and I
try everything to avoid them. Thre game pass is no exception. I’ve made mistakes before, but I’m trying to overcome them (not gonna go into detail).
Theres nothing like going out to a shop and buying a game in person.

I have tried the online purchases, but still prefer to have a physical copy. Have not tried the Gamepass. From what I have gathered, once you cancel your monthly subscription, you lose all the games!

I don’t have nearly as much game time as I did when I was a kid, so I just purchase the games I want to play. I still only end up buying 1 or 2 a year. If I had more time, the game pass may be worth it

I agree with this^, I only buy like 1 or 2 (digital) per year…

I had a free month of the game pass service, it was interesting. But I’m at the point where I don’t get enough time to play to justify it in my eyes. I only purchase two or three new games a year as it is and most of the games that were on there weren’t really my bag anyway. I’m sure for some it’s a perfect fit, but for me it doesn’t really make sense.

Physical disc I don’t like buying digital copys unless one of two things occur

  1. It’s cheaper
Or 2. I can’t find it at GameStop or a local Walmart. I haven’t tried the game pass but from what I’ve heard you pay 10-15 bucks a month to play games for free? (Correct me if I’m wrong)

I like the idea of game pass, I got a couple free months from RTX and it worked well and did exactly what you think; but I cant say I really miss it.
The biggest benefit is undoubtedly access to all the Xbox Exclusive games and only paying the price of one per year, but that’s about it. Older games are, well old. I already have played and owned them. New games aren’t on it.

In the end I find it more worthwhile to buy a physical copy of the game (cause it looks great on a shelf) or get it on sale on Steam, that is presuming it works on PC.

Individual Physical and digital purchase. It’s always good to have more than one copy of a game unless something happens to one of them.

Pretty much sums it up for me. I’ll get a couple more than that per year, but I just don’t have the time/energy to justify game pass. Years and year ago, I would’ve purchased game pass without a thought.

Tried game pass and the games that interested me dried up pretty fast.
