Xbox Elite 1 Controller drift?

Since the start of Season 2 it seems that my Elite 1 is having occasional drift. after I stop looking around it still keeps moving. Xbox Series S, Elite 1 Controller. Thoughts on how to get rid of this?

If you’ve got your deadzones turned down it’s probably best to increase their value in-game

it seems the Elite controllers are pretty known for their drift issues, if you’ve still got warranty you should be able to get it fixed. ( ఠ ͟ʖ ఠ)

I don’t think the warranty is still active (Owned for 3+ years) I was just finding it weird that it started after S2 released. I’ll try turning my deadzones down.

Up not down. Lower the value the more drift you’ll get.

They really need to introduce a way to fix drift without buying an entire new controller.
It’s a shame that the entire device becomes useless for the majority of users when a cheap cent component fails.

You can just buy the actual anolog part of the controller but not everyone will be able to fit it.

I constantly take my controller apart for a clean, i also rub a small bit of WD-40 on the sides of the buttons/sticks. Be surprised the stuff that gets caught in there.

For the OP, your best bet is to higher your deadzones as mentioned especially if the drift is only small. Id suggest not going too high with it as it can make movement/aiming worse simply due to how much input it requires, so even of you have a small drift that better than having mega high deadzones

Yeah, I’ve also maintained a few arcade sticks but regarding the mainstream appeal of controllers, a more user friendly solution would be welcomed.

Always nice to hear when someone fixes the hardware instead of trashing the whole thing

My elite V2 was the same after a few months so I replaced it under warranty recently. My V1 that I had for years never had any issues.

The problem is the cheap analog part they use. For the money you were dishing out for the elite, those parts should be high quality parts, not something I can get from china for 0.25$
