Hello, ladies and gentlegrunts, I come here to discuss an idea for renting games on your Xbox device.
I’m aware that EA is going to do such a feat with a library of its games, but to be honest, I’d like to see this option from a lot more than that company.
The world of video game purchases is riddled with opinions on both sides of the argument. You can’t just rely on hype to determine whether or not you’re going to buy a game. But, opinions are just from one person’s view. What really matters is your opinion, the buyer, the player. So many games this year some many people have hyped to no end, only to have those games become lacklusters and fall flat on their faces. But like I said, it’s only up to you whether to buy or not.
Rather than diving right into purchasing, I’d like to see some sort of digital rental system, so that we can get a feel for a game we’re questionable about before fully opening your wallets up to it. For a certain price, rent the game for a 24 hour period, then is disappears from your dash. However, you may only rent the game a certain amount of times (say 5 days), and for the 4th and 5th time, the price for renting is raised.
Redbox could be considered the solution to this, but so many times, the game/video you want isn’t available. Thoughts?
So terminology is a bit weird but it would be like a paid demo but if the player was fast and skilled enough they could at least complete the story within 24 hours? And with the constant renting and price hike, it would be like the old days of renting a game from like blockbuster where after you haven’t returned a game or movie in a while you are forced to pay full price or even more for the late fees.
Wouldn’t after the first 2 rentals that just proves the person should probably just buy the game? This rental system almost sounds like a monthly fee for an MMO but you just choose to do it that way instead.
If a Demo is created good enough then the demo would show the main points of the game it is representing perfectly. Like the ME3 Demo and the player should probably know what they feel about it by then.
Plus the rental system, being that you are renting the full game digitally just increases the risks of hackers to tear the game apart on a smaller price to be able to make it be pirated which is not what developers, publishers or distributors want.
Not a good idea in my opinion.

Holy crap, I have nothing to argue against that. You’re absolutely right.
