Xbox day one or wait till Halo 5

I was just wondering who else is going to buy the Xbox Day one edition or will you wait till Halo 5 comes out, then get Xbox one. That or just get it sometime else.

I’m definitely not getting day one edition.

  1. Can’t afford it just yet.
  2. The console may turn out to be complete -YOINK!-

I hope to get a console shortly after Christmas (or birthday as mines in January) so i’ll have some free dosh hangin around, UNLESS 343 release info about the halo 5 console early enough and I’m able to preorder it, in which case, I’ll have to wait.

Or if there’s a legendary ed. and the console only comes with limited ed. I’ll get a regular console and legendary ed, but that prolly won’t happen.

I’ve got my Day One Edition preordered already, still need to finish paying it off though.

I’ll be getting Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag Limited Edition and Battlefield 4 at launch. Of course Destiny also, but that’s not at launch.

As far as Halo Xbox One goes, if the Limited Edition is nothing but DLC and a little artbook again I’ll pass.

Getting the day one!

For me, I haven’t been able to get anything when they first come out but now, I am making up for lost time!

Here are the games that I’m sure I’m going to buy: Halo 5, Destiny, Fable Legends, The Witcher 3

Here are the games that I am positive about but am waiting to see more/read reviews before I buy them:
Assassin’s Creed 4, Quantom Break (we’ll have to see gameplay for this first, but they did make Alan Wake), Ryse, Dead Rising 3

Whichever I buy first (which mostly depends on reviews at this point but is probably AC4) will mark the date I will begin to look at buying the console. In any case it won’t be a day one purchase since my country isn’t one of the 13 that are supported in the original release. A good bet would be Q1/2 of 2014.

EDIT: Worst case scenario is that I’ll buy the Halo themed version if all the games above turn out to be crap and/or Halo releases before them. If it gets close, I won’t hesitate to buy it because it’s bound to be a pretty console (and nearly anything stylish will be prettier than the huge black box. For some reason, though, I believe I’ll get it earlier.

I’d never buy a console right when it comes out. Never know what kind of glitches it’ll have.

Well I think the best option is to wait till the next Halo game because 5 reasons:

  1. Halo limited console might happen (Hopefully less ugly than the current version)

  2. It should be cheaper than the current console

  3. Not enough good games on next gen to be worth skinting myself over

  4. Plenty of good games still on the 360 until Halo 5 comes out.

  5. If no halo themed console then possible Xbox One Slim since the new one is too fat

I’ll probably get the Xbox One next year like I got a 360 a year after it came out. Mostly because when a console is released for the first time it doesn’t really work properly (sometimes) for example, when the 360 was released in 2005 the consoles kept melting the discs then this was fixed later. I got my 360 in December 2006 and I’m still using that 360 to this day.

When the 360 Slim was released I think some of the products kept scratching the discs but I’m not to sure, and I’m not sure if the Xbox One will do the same but its probably 98% false. In conclude I thinks its best to pick up an Xbox One a few Months after a it comes out or when it gets cheaper (its always best to get stuff cheaper).

Honestly, I say Day One for many reasons and here’s why:

I don’t want to wait a year to play the awesome games such as titanfall, ryse, DR3 and many more. The day 1 edition comes with cool exclusive content, and will forever show your love for Microsoft. The Halo themed Xbox will most likely be priced an extra $100 as all the themed consoles do, costing you $600.

Honestly, get the Day One edition, don’t buy the Halo 5 themed Xbox One, but wait until Halo 6, and buy the Halo 6 themed console. Why, by then there will most definitely be a price drop on the console, Kinect may not be bundled with it, pricing it even cheaper, by then there will be a newer model (slim) fixing all the problem the previous models had, such as overheating problems that may occur, and the mandatory installs will most likely be gone by then.

Go with the Day One Edition.

Only if you live in Europe though :frowning: You guys also are getting a COD ghosts bundle as well, which is suspected to be at a cheaper price than buying the console and game separately, and if you are in one of the countries it got delayed in, you get another game for free.

Damn you lucky Europeans.

I have the Day One edition pre-ordered, but that may change. I have it bundled with the new Forza game. I love me a good racing game. :smiley:
