I have this really odd problem that the Xbox controller will work only for campaign and custom multiplayer matches but not for social matchmaking. Does anyone know what’s blocking the ability for me to not use my controller when I’m in a social matchmaking game?
P.S. While I’m in a social matchmaking game the keyboard doesn’t work as well. This all happened with the latest update.

This problem is now fixed. Apparently you have to enable the Xbox controller in Steam by opening up Steam -> Settings -> Controller -> General Controller Settings -> Xbox Configuration Support
What about if you downloaded on gamepass on pc
I’m having the exact same issue on the Xbox Game Pass for PC. Tried everything and I just can’t play multiplayer with my controller. It’s funny because I can pause the multiplayer with the controller but once I press B it’s unresponsive.
So I figured it out. When starting the game up right away do not use the mouse and keyboard to select anything use the gamepad and go into the settings and go to controls and change the preferred input. It locks you if you go passed the main menu with keyboard and mouse. Weirdly as it is.

Im on PC via the Win 10 game pass version. this did not work. Booted the game used to the controller to press start in the first menu. went to settings. it was set as a controller. went to custom game, works fine. went into multiplayer and can’t move. only the start button works to quit out but then you get banned for hrs.
There has to be another fix for this!

Any fix for this. I just purchase the game pass for windows and having the same issue

Same. I thought I was the only one.
I actually 100% figured this one out, for me at least. My Keyboard has USB & USB-C, before starting up the game I just unplugged my keyboards USB-C port and boom everything works fine.
