Seeing a ton of articles saying Xbox are planning on putting ads in their free to play games. Bro if I see an ad in Halo when I pay for Game Pass Ultimate every year I’m done with this franchise.

I’m not that worried it’ll happen because of how ridiculous the whole thing is. I’m not sure I’ve seen any in-game ads while playing on a console. Web games? Sure. But I don’t expect that we’ll be seeing pop up ads or anything like that any time soon. It’s more likely to be in other media.

The implementation of in game ads is not a new idea. The Xbox 360 version of Rainbow Six Vegas 2 had an ad driven mini game for promoting Tropic Thunder in Europe. Or something like that.
The ad boards on the Vegas strip changed too I think. It was a long time ago and my memory is not perfect. I’m not sure how I feel about it today, but I believe it’s inevitable in some titles.

probably be able to block them via windows firewall or hosts or both.
