Yes I know there are already a lot of these topics, like so many subjects. But wishing they will put your favorite scheme in is one thing, pointing out what I believe to be a significant flaw is another.
I really don’t understand how X for sprint will work. I understand it is toggle, but it still takes your thumb off the stick. But Recon is the only scheme with B as melee. I would assume that many people who have been playing Halo for 10 years or so like I have would also want B for melee, yet only one scheme has it.
Personally I prefer RB for action/reload: Here is what I want hastily drew in a fit of rage. But this which has been floating around would be nice as well.
AAs will be used more in combat, so you’ll want them in a more accessible place… like LB.
Sprint won’t be used as much during a fight, so you shouldn’t have to worry about being at a disadvantge if you can stop quick enough.
I thought that once too, but I now think that AAs should be the more accessible one.
It would be nice of they brought in another layout with B as melee (the recently suggested layout). I like Recon for the RB reload. I’d rather people get another loadout than change Recon.
Are there supposed to be more control layouts coming?
I would rather have sprint for X than the AA. At least with sprint you can press it and then you keep going but with an AA you have to hold it down and you NEED to be able to look around while using them.
I feel your pain. IMO these new schemes are going to take a while to get used to.
I swear 343 said they were taking in feedback about the control schemes, but I only see 1 or 2 changes across the board, while most of the setups remain identical to the E3 build.
This is genuinely the 1st thing about H4 I’m disappointed about.
It seemed like there were going to be more. Thats too bad… one more control scheme could solve a lot of current issues.
I may get used to Bumper Jumper if I need too. I still have plenty of time to get used to it on Reach.

A whole new option would be better because there are those that like Recon.

I swear they said we’d get a lot of control schemes. Some of the ones we have now are too impractical. We need more practical ones.

I never really thought of that. I just wanted LB to be Sprint because it would be easier to get used to, but I guess AAs are kinda more important. I’ll just learn to deal with it, I guess.

Same
I remember them gloating about how they had so many Control schemes to fit peoples taste. They kept emphasizing it…but this is the norm. It felt like a bunch of hot air they were blowing up. False hype

Yeah. They need to make up for this either before the game comes out or on a day 1 update.
> As long as you can just tap it instead of holding it, it should be fine.
But then you’d have to tap it again to deal with the guy that just popped out in front of you if you want to continue going where you were already going. Its not a good to have to re-maneuver just to get out of Sprint so you can fight.
