WZFF too difficult?

I’ve only done two matches so far but this feels WAY too hard to be any fun. Granted I’m not a great player and I think that’s my biggest issue with Guardians overall; it feels like the game is catering way too much to the best players and saying meh to lower to moderate players. Not every game mode needs to be competitive ffs. One of the reasons Reach FF was so popular was because it had customization and difficulty scaling. Another swing and a miss on what had so much potential to be a genuinely fun mode.

Yes I realize I’ve experienced but a slice of what this mode has to offer.

Majority of people who took part in the beta complained it was too easy so they had to up it’s difficulty. If your finding it too hard, it’s not an issue to blame 343 for but the community.

I haven’t played it yet (at work hooray…) but I personally found the beta pathetically easy, so I’m open to difficulty.

Its suppose to be difficult, your suppose to be pushed.
Use the Ai to train, you’ll get better

I started playing firefight and realised that it is now much harder than the beta, where I was always getting top position or 2nd or 3rd ranks. Now I’m in the middle, I didn’t particularly find it fun just a pain in the -Yoink!- when phantoms kept dropping elites and jackals off whilst just trying to kill 2 elites. After that it gets considerably harder the more times you die as the respawn time increases. I have 99% of all weapons but I’m afraid to use them encase I turn a corner to find a fuel rod grunt. I don’t know, maybe I found my experience more difficult as I had just come from the MCC’s ODST Coastal Highway on Mythic. Either way I will give it another try, but still feel that it at some times seems to be increasingly difficult which is not fun playing solo.

I’d figure this would happen. I’m getting sick of this catering for the elite mentality that’s being developed. Now people wonder why certain games die out pretty quick…

That’s true. My problem is with the way everything has to be tied into the precious REQ system at the expense of offline/custom options and more fun/casual/goofy game modes… For WZFF I feel like they could have at least made the difficulty adjustable and scaled the RP/XP accordingly. Instead it’s difficult all the time and meh players like myself just struggle and die a lot. Rewarding for good players? Sure but what about the rest? This competitive focus really kills a player base imo, as they’re driving away most casual players.

That would be your opinion. I liked Reach’s version WAY more.

So disregardin the intense lag Wich made me get disconnected from there servers but could still do anything else regarding the Internet made me loss the legendary ai kill boost I have been saving for a month. Second game second objective defend the forerunner core thing over in the hall near blue base on apex… we are still over by red moping up npc’s from first objective so by the time we get there it is at 75% with waaaaay too many npc’s too kill and we loss less then 2 min of getting there.

Reach’s was better imo. Also, ODSTs firefight was not nearly as hard as this

I’ve been waiting for this challenge! I’ve been raring to go ever since the Beta! Just seeing some matches makes me excited to get out onto that battlefield. The game type just came out, so you will figure out new strategies to use and then it’ll get easier OP. It’s not like we were masters at WZ when it came out, but now new strategies have replaced our old ones and games feel very different from what they did at release.

Part of the reason we see so many negative posts is because those people are probably salty. The majority of the ones enjoying it are probably too busy playing to be on the forums, lol! Whenever I get discouraged in campaign (FF is the same concept) I just think of SGT Johnson. Then I smile and get back to killing covies.

I think it’s just how the objectives are presented. There isn’t enough of a balance or a chance for some things. For example, when you need to hunt down a specific number of a type of enemy, they give you that exact number of particular enemies. This leads to running around to find the last one, wasting time and resulting in a loss (which happened to me in a previous game). They should bring the arrows back to point where the specific targets are.

Besides that issue, it isn’t too difficult. If anything they can decrease the AI spawn spam just a bit when trying to kill bosses. They basically just become a bunch of annoying pests.

4 mythic hunters in under 2 mins with infinite respawning elites/jackals/grunts? What a joke.

I went home for lunch to start the download and jumped into a match quick. Got to round 3 or 4 on Snowblind. Was tough. Even first round the grunts were sharp shooters and started dropping sniper on the roof of the armory. Once You figure out how tough it gets you adapt and after a few deaths I decided to try a different approach. The timers do suck as you go because even if you die if your teammates aren’t rocking some heavy hitting weapons then you’ll get destroyed as a team. Hunters shot me in my ghost ultra at the start of the mouth cave behind the fortress and killed me, and that’s impressive range for a hunter(not too sure why their range is upped x100 or so). Wouldn’t be a big deal on difficulty but when you die and have to wait for 20 some seconds and the round is down to the last bad guy and you can’t respawn to finish it.

They said the penalty of respawn time would make you work together as a team but now i’m thinking there’s no damn way i’m jumping into a warthog with someone where two or more of us could be out of the game for part of a round.

Well, no more mindless games just to get the XP & commendations :wink:

It is way too difficult. I have lost all 5 of the matches ive played on round 3 or below. It isnt fun, i would say its even at the level of rage inducing

Agreed the only reason I’m not playing is cause it’s still downloading. As soon as it’s done I’ll be off here for awhile.

Instead of licking their chops at a challenge worthwhile, people complain it’s too hard.
