Among some of the key problems with firefight, despite the progression the game boasts, it is wildly in favor of the AI in terms of Health, Damage, and Accuracy. While we are supposed to feel like super soldiers holding out against massive numbers of enemies, it now feels like a cover shooting game, where enemies not only tank large amounts of damage, but they can deal tons of damage in kind with accuracy that is aided by a strange magnetic tracking not available to players. If 343 could just largely tone down one of these elements out of the game, it might feel a bit more tolerable, or at the very least tone down all 3 so that damage is comparable to that in pvp, the game might feel a little more balanced.
And this is why promies suck in WZFF because of their homing weapons of mass destruction

Try going for Urban with the 4 knight mini bosses that leads up to 3 Warden Eternal bosses in the back of your base with a massive wave of Knights and Soldiers swarming over the entrance. Then do it in the time span of 5 minutes.

Possible. That is, if your entire team is not running in with SMGs, BRs, and DMRs, and actually calling in explosives REQs. then those enemies will get REQt.

I admit that it can be possible, but because of the amount of health those enemies have, and they can blow up most vehicles with minimal effort from their own weps, that it is insulting that we have to rely on REQs. Requisitions are supposed to make an encounter easier, not be the only answer.

So use the Wheelman Armor Mod. Trust me, it will make your vehicles last a lot longer. And what you’re saying here is that everyone should be able to destroy a Mythic Boss quickly with a damn Battle Rifle. There are many REQs that are common, cheap, and can damage bosses fairly well. For example, the more “underrated” Plasma Caster can do a good amount of damage to a boss with it’s charge shot, hell, even a Ghost Ultra can do colossal amounts of damage to a boss, as long as you know how to use it. In reality, the only way you can really lose is: A. You/Your team/Both suck. B. Neither you/Your team/Both call in REQs. or C. You/Your team/Both suck with REQs. or on the very off chance of happening D. Nobody can call in REQs.
Don’t forget rate of fire, with plasma pistols being fired like machine guns. All the weapons should have the same values that are available to the player.

I think you misunderstood the point I am trying to make. The bosses can be left to their own devices as they are supposed to be powerful that requires a massive amount of damage to take them down, otherwise they wouldn’t have been given that status. What I mean to say is that the normal AI have these unusually high attributes, so we spend more time trying to clear out the guarding enemies than focusing on the boss itself. I do happen to use the wheelman mod and that item is my most commonly used REQ the moment I get to RL5.

Oh, I though you were talking about bosses, because you were talking about them before, my bad. Then I completely, whole heartedly agree. AI are super overpowered. Want to take down an Elite? Use an entire BR magazine. Want to take down a Promethean Soldier? Use half of your BR ammo reserves. Want to take them down quickly? Wait, um… there isn’t any way… at least… without… tanks and rocket launchers… Half the time my team (I play with randoms, but at least they have the common sense to pull out some decent weaponry) can barely even make it to the final Bosses, well if there are bosses, it is more of a psuedo bossfight with the never-ending waves of knights with unlimited Incineration Cannons, supported by Soldiers with Aimbot.

Oh by any means, the bosses should remain the same as they always have. I mean, the only way I know that can effectively combat soldiers and elites with ease is through splattering. Its surprising how effective those scout warthogs can become when you can just throw them under the proverbial bus. Then you have the Knights and Hunters that require a full string of rockets just to take down 1. Hopefully some tuning will be done so that loadout weapons can do more damage to the regular units, cause the flow of battle is just so terribly one sided. If not for the horrible req progression, I would actually call in hydras or the even my binary rifles, but I can barely get to my rockets by the 4th round, but by that point I’d be better off using Wraiths or a Mantis with the Wheelman mod on.
The problem is actually getting to the level thes reqs need to be called in. And by the time you can use rocket launchers you may as well call in a scorpion. I think the difficulty would be fine if power weapons could be refilled at ammo stations, and could be called in at say req level 3 or 4 max. But to be honest there should be ordinance weapons dropped into us at the wave intervals so we dont burn our req reserves as fast as we are right now. we should also be able to jack vehicles that arent bosses.
This would make the game so much better, but then 343 wouldnt be able to milk us as much for the gold packs.

That is only part of the problem as far as REQ level progression is concerned. If the REQs are only partially effective against most targets due to their high defenses, it renders them as near useless when you can just as easily use your loadout weapons.

Can confirm this. My tank was burning, and a phantom landed a dozen of hits on me. Still, I didn’t die.
Fair point OP. I wish they had implemented an enemy structure where each enemy had only 2 of the 3 boosts, and a color system that allowed you to identify them as such. That way you could approach them differently, use different strategies based on the opponent.
E.g.
Red: high damage & high accuracy. Normal health
White: high accuracy & high health. Normal damage
Yellow: high damage and high health. Normal accuracy

I think people forget what CE was like, playing on legendry. If anything FF enemies are easier to kill than CE legendary AIs.
Firefight is hard at time (as it should be) but not as hard as everyone makes out. Excluding some rounds that are nearly impossible (the mantis in the base for one) it’s not that difficult. Just need a good team.
Looking forward to the updates 343 have in store. Just needs tweaking not changed.
"Hi, I’m warden eternal…

Seriously though, we need to get some patches roiling out already… there has been more then enough feedback, let’s get this on and patched up.
Welcome to Firefight, Spartan.
Round 1: Eliminate Cortana and The Created threat from the galaxy.
Time: 3 minutes
Good luck.
The above scenario is easier than what we currently have.
