I have seen a lot of “Wut controller layout do you use?” topics and everyone always talks about the button layout and maybe the sensitivity. Does everyone use default sticks?
I started out console gaming with a friend on Halo CE and he told me to use Legacy for my thumb sticks because that is wu he used and i have been using it ever since. Does this make it harder or easier to play?
Isn’t Legacy the layout where you move forwards/backwards and turn with the left stick, and look up/down and strafe with the right? If yes, that’s the one I used for a loooong time in FPS games prior to H:CE because I couldn’t wrap my head around the default layout.
Today, however, I find Legacy to be totally nonsensical. After all, I learned to finally use the default controls by teling myself that “left stick controls feet, right stick controls head.” ^^

I wasn’t looking for an advantage when I first started playing. Being left handed, legacy southpaw just felt right to me. After 10 years or playing with that stick layout I have found it has some major disadvantages but it is just too late in the game to relearn.

I know of some people who some off flight sim games that enjoy playing on the odd stick settings, I could never grasp anything else.
