PSA: Go read up on Infinite and what Joseph Staten has to say, then reread it. Its enough to make a grown man cry.
It didn’t make me cry at all. The hype for this game is getting out of hand and needs to STOP

Here we gOOOOOOOOO!
Let the hype train begin.
Agreed!! Lets Gooooooo
It’s worrying. The latest update is bs. It shows no transparency as a company and instead throws a load of developers under the chopping knife to steer the crowd away from the real facts about a 500 million dollar game being sub par. Didn’t some of the more senior management team just quit. It stinks of poor management and I honestly think that Halo infinite won’t live up to the hype and will be the final nail in the coffin for the halo franchise. Not just graphically but gameplay wise it is now outdated and will never see the player numbers of old. RIP
I think the game looks gorgeous from what we’ve been shown. Hopefully it isn’t a smoke show with lighting and concept art.
I’m disappointed with the release date. I understand the complications, but 6 years between mainline Halo games is insane. There was 6 years between Halo: CE and Halo 3.
I really hope that they launch on XBSX exclusively. There’s no reason a game stuck 6 years in development shouldn’t be utilizing all the possible power of the new gen console.

I understand your concern as I also have my doubts. However, I think its ironic kinda… you know who’s in management at 343i that was apart and help create the hype for CE-Reach? Coughs in Joseph Staten
Also, the saying the ENTIRE post was bs seems like you are simply not getting your hopes up in fear of getting them smashed. Give credit where credit is do Tommy. All the work they’ve done with MCC has been phenomenal. They’ve had som,e rough starts, but its clear that they are learning and improving from their mistakes. IF Halo Infinite was a 500 million dollar game that took inspiration from Halo 5 rather than CE, I’d completely agree with you. But they aren’t. With that fact alone (and having that being showcased in the demo), the least you can be is optimistic. Don’t trash a company like that after all the work they’ve been through (AND through a pandemic). Acknowledge what they’ve gotten right instead of living in what they messed up on.

Really? You want it to launch on the next gen consoles exclusively? I’m not buying a 4 or 500 dollar console to play it. I feel it should be on the exact same platforms as it says it will release on. There’s no harm in releasing it on Xbox One, Series X/S or PC instead of just Series X/S. There is literally no point to your statement there.

Oops, meant to include PC in there too.
But yeah, why launch it on XB1? MCC came out a year after XB1 launched and was an XB1 exclusive, why not do the same with Infinite?
Build the game for the more powerful console.

They are designing it for it and they will just copy+paste the game to XB1 without the next gen stuff.

I’m definitely not a video game designer, but I feel like that’s not necessarily how it works, considering so far there have been 0 Halo games to launch simultaneously on two different consoles (sans backwards compatibility). Also considering the XBSX didn’t even release until last month, I’m not sure how much of the game they could have designed for it or when it was ready (again, not a video game designer - but considering the console didn’t launch until Nov and the game has been in development for around 5 years, even if the XBSX was ready in 2019, that’s not a ton of time to design the game to the console specs).
Maybe the whole Game Pass gaming cloud system will help smooth over the gaps, which I’m hopeful of. But I really do hope the year push back helps utilize the power of the new console.
OH MY GOD CRAIG MADE A DEBUT IN THE ARTICLE THEY KNOW

I’m reading all the comments discussing specs and how Infinite will run on the XBXs. Then I see this comment lol
When I saw that Craig got his own headline title, I also, lost it.
When the hype train leaves, I’m staying in the station. Call me a jaded, cynical -Yoink-, but it’s going to take a LOT more than some nice words from Joe Staten to undo the entire last decade of Halo. It’s been nothing but a constant stream of disappointment since 2010.
I want Infinite to be awesome, but I have exactly zero faith in 343’s ability to make it awesome. From what I’ve seen, they don’t actually care about Halo, except as a means to extract as much money from me as possible.
Happy that I missed the hype train

Because like he said, half of us don’t want to shell $500 for a new console when it would be just as easy to play on the Xbox One. Simple as that, especially while we have more important financial things to worry about right now.

This whole take feels like a massive knee jerk reaction. Yes theyve had management issues, and you should see it as a good thing that the problematic elements were removed / quit. Having Joe Staten as creative director for the final development push will add a lot of much needed focus and stability to getting this game rounded out. Thats why he was brought on in the first place as he was there to ship the halo games that built this franchise through their most troubling times.
We should be happy that those that were not doing as good of a job as possible are gone and that people in charge of the SP / MP either have tons of experience with halo or proven track records with MCC. Im not saying go wild with hype, but this update was not BS. This update gave a lot of much needed confidence back to the fans, and restored a sense of peace in the mind of those that are looking forward to this game.
Sure those who hate sprint and what not are still going to complain but thats never going to change. This is only the start as after the holidays they are going to start sharing more. They said the content drought is over now so we should reserve the doom and gloom for after they have talked more about infinite in the updates coming next month and beyond =)
