Wtf 343?! Halo is KNOWN and loved for late night fun with friends on the same TV playing halo. Make a update, dumb down the graphics and let us play the game how it was made to play!!! Ridiculous, COD can support it but not halo? So tired of all these next gen games ruining great titles such as halo. Should be a simple fix. Make it happen.
The game was built without splitscreen in mind, it won’t happen, ever.
I feel like someone missed the memo months ago…
I don’t know why they couldn’t put splitscreen in it would have made the game 10 times better because all my friends have ps4 and now I can’t play together with them

Yea Halo 5 removed split screen for I think 60 frames per second. I’m disappointed as well but I’m still excited and ready to play Halo 5. Hopefully split screen will return in the next Halo release. Everything else about Halo 5 is amazing though!

Idgaf make a split screen version. This is bs, and no I didn’t hear about it. Not gonna waste my time researching a game that’s had split screen since day one… I rightfully assumed 5 would have it… 343 can suck a fat one.
I guess people just don’t realize that there are more people out there that don’t follow Halo news than the 10-20,000 people that come onto Waypoint. Most people that bought the game out there probably still don’t even know about splitscreen. It’ll become a huge topic again in the next few days.

This, and Digital Foundry’s analysis showed that moving objects and characters in Halo 5 will drop down to 30fps when far enough away from the player.
It appears that things in Halo 5 were already designed to scale down, as would be necessary to make splitscreen work.

You didn’t “rightfully assume” that Halo 5 would have split screen, as you were incorrect in your assumption. Plus, being rude to the devs? Not the best way to get what you want.
I like how 343i have been going about and saying they’re bringing Halo back to the core elements that made it great (not to mention they are the ones to blame for Halo not being great) and they remove split screen.
Split screen is such a core part of the Halo DNA it makes you wonder is anyone at 343 even know what made Halo great to begin with.

So since I’ve purchased every single halo since day one including the master chief collection which all had split screen, I was wrong to assume the “next gen” “bad -Yoink-” halo 5 would not have it? Give me a break. Apparently I’m not the only one who feels this way. But 64.00 for a game we as the consumers should get what we want, not what’s convenient for them. Patch it, make a update, make it work.

No split screen really should not be a deal breaker. Just get your mates to bring their Tv and xbone around.

No I am not. If you pre ordered a iPhone 7 and it came with no camera would u be thrown off? Bought a new car find out down the road it has no ac, bought a couch online came with no cushions etc etc. when you buy a product that’s so well known you expect it to have the originality of its predecessors. I along with the other thousand people who feel the same way are not wrong. And no, why tf would I have a friend bring over a TV and Xbox? I just joined waypoint recently, but I’m not a new Halo player. I too wasn’t aware they cut split screen from the game. It is very disappointing, because it is such an integral part of what made Halo one of my very favorite franchises. I have incredible memories of playing split screen, and was looking forward to making new ones. There’s no point in going off on devs though OP.
