However, the game’s matchmaking system will still take ranks into account when finding matches. There will be an experience and ranking system like Reach, but it’ll be hidden to others to prevent cheating.”

Now that is the stupidest thing I’ve heard so far from this game, the rest looks amazing.
Its fun to show off your rank and show people what you are, why would they do this? Its never happened before in Halo so why implement it now?

Its only going to cause more trouble then it stops.

and I would rather have a ranking system.
But I would rather have no ranking system at all than a ranking system where I can only see my rank … that’s pointless.

You can still tell your friends what it is to get your ego boost

You will have a visible rank, maybe it is just your BPR or skill that others can not see.

But you can always talk over a mic…

FOR the people who say, “NO I DONT WANT 1-50!” Then WHy DON’T YOU JUST IGNORE IT? And play the game? Or Play social? That way BOTH groups of people are happy?

The reason halos so successful is its addictive nature to get HIGHER and be BETTER. Not to play longer…

No, because this is freaking ridiculous why can’t we have a visible rank system, that’s why the banhammer is there, they’re apparently afraid of cheating, why can’t you just ban them instead of taking something thats been in every Halo away from the legit players?

I care not about the rank of other people. I only care about my own rank…To be honest seeing other peoples ranks has not contributed or taken away from the matchmaking experience. SO I dont see why you are complaining

It’s not so much the cheating, as it is the account-selling and boosting it pervades.

Every Halo? No sir/ma’am you are incorrect. Combat Evolved (you know the Halo game that started it all) had no visible ranking system.

That’s funny… I don’t remember Halo CE having a ranking system and people played that for hours and hours and hours… AND HOURS!..Simply because they enjoyed playing it!..Shocker i know!

The rank is there, if you really want to boast to your friends about it, send a picture!

Every Halo with Live Multiplayer has have a visible rank system.
