Wtf is this?

I have had this happen where I shoot them in the stomach= headshot as well. Don’t tell me they noobified the hit boxes like Destiny. Don’t EVEN get me started on that auto lock throwing knife bs.

It’s the bullet magnetism, needs to be fixed in the final game. They reduce the auto aim, but then your shots register even when you miss.

When i have a high ping, the players are kind of “teleporting” sometimes, but I didn’t recognize this in any of my games. Is there no “teleporting”, when the ping is not too high?
Maybe I have to say that I have very good internet. Why is there a high ping? Bad servers?

Probably because its 343s first go through with the so called dedicated servers. It still feels like p2p.

Its moré like the game is connecting you to wrong datacenters. Sí if you are in USA sometimes is connecting you to Astralia and vice versa.

“Teleporting” is due to lag compensation. It is the game trying to correct for it. From playing the beta, my impression is that there are no compensation systems in place thus you don’t see the super obvious symptoms of lag. I believe this is lag because this doesn’t common and thus is inconsistent to other behavior.

More examples: incorrect Kill Cams are not broken (necessarily) but are wrong due to lag, I’ve seen it happen plenty in other games. Inconsistent aim assist; by this I mean staying on target rather than bullet magnetism, some games I seem to be able to stay on target well but in other I literally end up spraying and praying. Don’t know if it’s lag or poor early coding. Some times you may feel like you died too quickly/ other people can kill you faster. Some have theorized that this happens due to lag causing the game to not tell you you’ve been hit. Example; you’re full health but go down from a guy three shotting you with a BR (instead of four) but saw no other sources, flashes, sounds or other indicators of additional damage.

Why is this happening? Well not too many people have learned to use Azure severs yet so coding tricks aren’t well known. A lot of third party devs are still using their own servers for MP games because then they only have one set of servers to update for all platforms (which they also control in house).

Though this excuse will not last much longer IMO because dedicated servers are so much better and Microsoft let’s use the Azure Live servers for FREE!

This is also 343’s first game on the system. I believe things like fine tuning the network coding are one of the last things done for a game.

No matter what though, low Beta population will exasperate the problems as it will be more difficult to match players to have the same ping (or skill level for that matter).

  1. Due to Beta Code and what/not, you’re not likely to pinpoint the bullet that killed the opponent. I’ve had quite a few kills that seemed delayed.

  2. You’re using a burst weapon and their head was well inside the reticle to score a headshot from the spread.

  3. By this time tomorrow I can have a link to a video showing that the H3BR would get a “chest” headshot as well, if you’d like.

I’m glad you posted this. I’ve had this problem during certain games where a player kills be much faster yet I still 4 shot him. Glad to know its the game not my skill rapidly declining in every game.

just trying to ruin good gameplay, i hope 343 gets the hint, we don’t want bullet magnatism.

Yeah, I have 3 or 4 of this kind of encounter every game. Seems to be worse since the server update last week but that might just be me. I can’t figure out of this game is hitscan or not; the registration just feels weird.
