Despite the confused looks and disapproval of the entire custom games lobby, my friend keeps calling the Halo 3 SPNKR Rocket Launchers “Jackhammers”. What do I do to end this heresy?
That’s just the nickname for the SPINKr. See the bolded text below in a quote from Halopedia:

I personally dislike the name “Jackhammer”, I usually just refer to it as “Spanker” cause I’m kinda stuck on it even after playing Halos 1-5

I actually remember a lot of people using that term back in the Halo CE/2 days. Can’t remember why.
Prior to reading The Fall of Reach I had no idea this was the name for the RL.

It’s because the first halo novel the fall of reach called it the Jackhammer before halo CE even came out. Just reading that book and was looking it up for this thread.
