WTF! File Share shares everything you save?

Anything and everything you save in forge can be accessed by everyone. What happened to being able to pick and choose what to share???

Bump

Wow, really? That sounds bad. Someone could just take a W.I.P. project you’re doing, finish it and claim it as their own.

Wow… I didn’t think that would be possible… That’s messed up in every way. That’s why forge and other game modes should be allowed OFFLINE, just in case of these issues.

Yeah, they need to add some options here. We should be able to pick and choose what goes into our file share.

Delete the old copies so people cant take them.

I’m sure the original author’s name will be attached to it but, still everything you even so much as start is going to be immediately accessible. So yeah, absolutely no privacy if you are starting a cool new concept. Not to mention everyone’s file share will be cluttered up with everything they’ve ever saved.

That’s just dumb. I think they release stuff half-a**ed on purpose, so they can keep updating it and ‘fixing it’. In the Cartographer’s gift article they said they’d continually make updates to the File Sharing system. To me, that means, they have the completed, 100% functional flawless version. But they’re releasing one of their beta builds so that we complain and they can keep trickling these updates down to us as if they’re busy busting their butt for us. I’m sure they have Infection, Grifball, KOTH and other modes sitting there. It’s about timing though.

Only the ppl on your friends list can. friends of friends cant.

Well, with the new one-way friend system, anyone can access your stuff simply by adding you as a friend. They don’t have to be on your friends list at all.

Wait … there’s a fileshare?

Well forge was highly demanded and was “expected” by launch. 343 actually delayed it for almost two months but the demand and criticism kept coming. Now here it is and people say it’s unfinished. Gee, I feel no sympathy for those who demanded it early, and then complain about it being unfinished when it’s out after it was delayed. Either way 343 is gonna get blamed for not releasing something expected, or delaying something that still needed work.

To OP: hopefully people don’t take advantage and “steal” other forgers works. Being how there are people like that though… I don’t know.

This is probably the most stupid argument I’ve heard.
They have the flawless version of File Share but they want us to complain about it first? In what world is that a smart thing to do? You think they want to pretend to be busting their butts on file share while they what, do nothing?
Bottom line is, they want to make money. You don’t make money by doing an intentionally -Yoink- job at providing support. They would much rather send the game out flawlessly so people would have NO complaints and tell their friends how perfect Halo 5 is.
That’s how you make a brand name, that’s how you make money and continue to make it.
343 may be doing sub par, but it’s so far beyond illogical that they would intentionally throw a wrench in Xbox’s flagship game, the gane that they’re being paid to make, the one they won’t be making a sequel of if they do a -Yoink- job.

That is literally the most ridiculous comment I have ever read on any forum, on any website, in any book or carved in to any stone, ever.

Guess the only take away would be that 343 stated they are going to be continually releasing updates for the file share system. Let’s all hope that is true cause, the way it is now is 100% wacky.

I haven’t touched file share, so I had no idea it was broken. Is there any way to change the privacy settings for it?

Yeah because they love being criticized for everything. Obviously they love screwing up and choose to do so instead of releasing it all. Just for the sake of people being angry. This is the stupidest -Yoink- I’ve read all day

Not sure. Would be a good thing to check but, I have a feeling there isn’t. Will check later.

You must not know how the business world works. They need to keep people playing Halo. Any small improvements and tweaks are improvements nonetheless. I know a ton of people that stopped playing Halo and just got back on after yesterday’s updates. In today’s climate you’re playing Halo one day, COD the next, Fallout the day after that, then Just Cause, then Rainbow Six. So they need reasons to keep people coming back otherwise the casuals move on and there’s a huge dropoff in the population of the game. So if they PURPOSELY ruin something, that gives them another chance to push out an update. You can’t deliver a flawless experience off the bat because once people see everything Halo has to offer, they’ll move onto another game. Here’s an analogy for you… Android phones get updated, so do iPhones. You don’t think the next iOS is under development, if not done? So why are you stuck with this current version? It’s called customer satisfaction. You need to give the consumer the perception/illusion that they have an ever-evolving product. Trust me, they already have KOTH, Oddball, and Infection ready. It’s not like it takes 1,000,000,000 man hours and rocket science to make this possible. The same way it isn’t rocket science to deliver a flawless file share experience

I just got testicular cancer by reading that.
