I got a 1 day for idle. I never idled. I finished my game swapped to the television to watch a show, came back and I had a ban for idling. I believe this to be an unfair ban because I never idled or left the game. This ban hammer is to strong.
EDIT: I was looking at my game history. it says I played a game I never played. The last game I played was assault on the island map. I don’t know it’s name but it says I played in another match after that for 6 minutes. I never played in it. What the hell is up with this game.
If you don’t back out of matchmaking after a game it places you in another one. So most likely you finished a game, and just switched to TV before backing out.
I’m not sure if it bans for one bloody day on a first offense so you must have idled before.

This is how it’s always been? And it’s for conveniece, I like that I’m placed in a que after a match. It’d be quite annoying having to go back into a matchmaking que after each match.
So no, the game does not know unless you actually tell it. Like with pretty much any software.

Make sure that after you go back to the home screen, that you highlight H5, hit the menu button, and then select “quit” so that the game has actually stopped running entirely. That might be the cause of your problem.

Every one claims they never did any thing or only did it “once” but they are liars. You don’t get a one day ban for a one time offense. He probably isn’t backing all the way out of matchmaking and doesn’t realize it when he switches to tv so he probably has a lot of idles and just doesn’t realize it.

All game and apps continue to run on Xbox One unless you quit, if you finish a match then hit the guide button to launch tv Halo 5 will still run on it’s own.
i had to quit a game early once ever! wife was sick and needed my attention. i come back and showed i have been quitting too many times even though i only quit this one time…i think the ban people are way to eager to wave their ban hammer ridiculously all over the place.
