Wrong Challenge Unlocking (Not Hacking)

This is something that has happened a couple of times now.

Say there is a challenge that says “Get 16 headshots IN A SINGLE MATCH”. So I would start sniping with a DMR and then suddenly in the game up pops the dialogue that I have completed the challenge and gives me the points. Excellent.

OR NOT!

When the challenge popped up this one time I had only got about 5 kills in the match. Nowhere near the 16 headshots needed. Very puzzling indeed.

Now when I thought about it I may have gotten about 12 headshots the previous match so maybe the system had not reset when the new match started.

So this has not happened to other people? Or are you worried the XP will be removed?

Happened to me as well earlier before a game where I actually got it legit, for me it’s one of those “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth” moments.

It’s possible it did the same thing as the previous weekly headshot challenge did.

Once it completed it reset and was stuck on 12. (not sure if you lost XP on it as I wasn’t paying too much attention to it)

Are you sure you just didn’t complete a commendation?

Was your first game a “Join In Progress” game?

I’ve come to a theory, but not yet proved it, that the challenges continue over if your first game is JIP. I got the Regicide one last week but there was no way in hell I got the 18 (or whatever it was) Regicides in one game!! I’m going to keep checking these though then post a thread with my findings once I’m sure.

i dunno about what OP mentioned, but i got the highscore mastery commendation in a game that i most certainly didn’t finish in the top 3 of…and last night, since i knew i was close (5games)i played close attention to when i was in the top 3, but it wasn’t counting. i chalked that up to it being in a losing game, even though my score was in the top 3 overall

Quite the theory. I hope you come to a conclusion; I’m interested to see why I had 2 sprees and 2 sprees yesterday instead of the required 4 in one match.

Yesterday, I got the “Get 4 sprees in a match” with 1 spree :stuck_out_tongue:

I got the Threading The Needle challenge completed again… Once again, I didn’t come close to getting 16 headshots in a single match when it unlocked.

Now that JIP theory might have some merit because I think I was in a JIP match when it unlocked.

So many glitches in the game…

To the guy who says I shouldn’t look a gift horse in the mouth I say this… I would rather earn the challenge legit than get it unethically. I want to feel like I have earned the challenge rather than being given it by a bug.
