So I’m not that great of a writer, not that I’ve really tried but when I was in school I used to take my Halo novels in to read, I’ve always been a massive fan of the Halo universe and it always inspired me to come up with my own short stories so when it came to doing tests that involved writing short stories I usually used Halo as my main inspiration, I used to get pretty high marks for my stories too but I’ve never really tried writing more since then. Now though I’m considering writing my own Halo novel, implementing everything I know about the universe and using a lot of the characters, locations, vehicles and weapons while adding my own little details and twists, new characters, backstories of already pretty well established characters or not so well known characters, I want to know what you guys think of my idea (I’m probably not the only person who’s tried it but oh well). I’ll be sure to share it with you all to see what you think when I’ve finished it, or at least come up with a first draft and then if anyone would be able to help me get it recognised by 343i if it’s good enough that would be a major awesome thing for me, even if it doesn’t get anywhere I’d still love to get some sort of response from 343i. So let me know if I’ve got your support for my little project 
Many have done what you did but lost motivation part way through, though I don’t know if it’ll help you in the long run, I would suggest posting it in a deviantart community page for other halo fan writers to see and critique. I don’t know how you could get it into 343’s eyes but I think sharing it to as many places as possible when finished would help.
Overall, go for it. I like seeing stories others come up with in the Halo universe.

Thanks buddy I’m determined to do something, I’d love to write a novel which if I can get into 343i’s attention would be awesome if they made it official canon, I wouldn’t mess with the plot or cause any inconsistencies with the timeline, and I wouldn’t ruin any of the beloved characters
Could you give us a brief synopsis? I would really like to know what your story is about!
The year is 2550, humanity is at war with the covenant. New technology is constantly being invented to combat this alien threat. From the spartan programmes, to new armour, weapons and vehicles. One spartan has been ONI’s personal tester for all this new equipment, from training grounds to behind enemy lines, he’s been through every aspect of this war, from the battlefield to the political side. Some members of ONI want him killed incase he’s captured by the enemy and reveals valuable information to them. On the other side of the Battle, a group of sanghelli soldiers are having doubts about their entire belief system after recovering some life changing data from a forerunner artifact on an uncharted planet, hidden amongst the outer colonies. Now they will decide whether to tell the high prophets of this discovery and risk being executed for heresy or split from the covenant and forge a new unlikely alliance. While human colonies are being invaded and glassed by covenant forces, it’s up to a group of ODSTs led by 2 spartan headhunters to intercept and board a large covenant ship in the hopes of taking out Its leader and stoping an invasion force from making its way to destroy another human inhabited planet.
(it’s a work in progress, that’s just a simple summary of what I’ve got planned, obviously there’s gonna be some time shifts so it’s not just gonna be set in the year 2550, and there’s 3 storylines in one that will all sort of connect with each other towards the end, there’ll be new characters, locations and even some little mentions and cameos of some more memorable characters and locations)

Thanks I’m gonna have a week of doing all the research about the lore and the timelines and then I’m gonna draft some notes on what I can work with, I dont want to make any inconsistencies so I’m gonna get everything to make as much sense as possible while still integrating my own characters and locations that will still fit into the Halo universe
