Hi. Theres currently no wraith tanks on any map in btb. The only other playlist I have seen is dominion exile, longbow that has a wraith. Please add a wraith to btb, id prefer one on ragnarok on the riverbed facing the laser spawn. On a crazier note, one can be added to map-complex outside the network of buildings.
Longbow could be pretty interesting, having Wraiths instead of Scorpions, but then again, there aren’t many maps that support the scorpion either, and having a map with 2 of each tank will get a little too tank-heavy, considering that the map was (laughably) designed for warthogs.
On Ragnarok, considering the banshee, rocket hog, Spartan laser and mantis, the wraith won’t be very viable to use
Complex cannot support any vehicle other than Mongooses and Ghosts, which sucks, because Complex would’ve made a decent warthog map
in addition, complex seems way too small to add a tank of any kind.
but anyway, there do need to be more wraiths, but the current maps don’t look like they’d work well with a wraith
> the current maps don’t look like they’d work well with a wraith
That’s the issue. All the current maps do not really support the heavy vehicles (Scorpion/Wraith).
The maps are way too narrow, blocked and simply not open enough as that you could effectively operate with those vehicles, especially with all those Plasma Pistols and Stickies in loadouts and the anti-vehicle power weapons in POD.
I want to/can see the Wraith only return into BTB when it comes with a forged map that has been specifically designed to support that kind of vehicle play.

You are right. I wasn’t referring to four tanks on a map (you’re right thats ridiculous!) I meant only wraith tanks on Longbow instead of scorpions. Besides, that map I too believe is made for mongooses, ghosts and warthogs.
Ragnarok - Im sure having a wraith on the riverbed will do good to that map.
Complex - You are correct but Im sure having a wraith will allow the team spawning outside the buildings a level start. I used to think it makes for a good warthog map but Im wrong, Ive tried it and it doesnt work. Mongooses and ghosts are best for it. Ive never seen wraith tanks on this map and am sure having one will make it interesting.

I got that same thought as well. However, wraith tank can be used, though I agree that scorpion tanks are just not viable in any btb map. I actually was hoping blood gulch(h1) and avalanche(h3). Both are ideal for scorpion tanks. The former may have wraith tanks in place of scorpion tanks too. ragnarok is I think is vaguely similar to blood gulch. that said i still suggests wraith tanks for ragnarok, complex and longbow.

Ragnarok is perhaps the only current map where Wraiths can work as replacements for the Mantises. Otherwise adding a Wraith to the already existing vehicles on Ragnarok would be pure overkill in my opinion.
Nonetheless, I doubt that the Wraith can unfold its full potential on Ragnarok with all those Splasers on that map.
However , I think it would be the best to place the Wraith on a forged map that has been specifically designed to support it.
I am still wondering why BTB hasn’t recieved a single forge map yet.
Definitely. Longbow…
Back before it was move, the wraith was a beast on that map, and suing it properly relied on skill and much better aim compared to that of a ghost or mantis…
Also you could wipe out an entire team with a single blast, what’s not to like?

Ya wraith can replace mantises but then the wraith will be lasered before saying SHOOT. Mantis is fine as it is wraith should not replace it. But when a wraith exists on that riverbed, getting that laser is going to be tough.
Well I just go along whatever map btb gives. Its only the lack of a wraith tank that’s prompted me to put up this post. If not for wraith mastery, Id only play btb.
im aware of playing forge maps in custom games.

Ya, ive used it on that map and that’s why I am all for it. A ghost is suited to all the maps in btb, most maps include the mantis… What is least likeable is the way that the wraith tank has been disregarded completely.
>>IMO the wraith tank is effective against campers and other vehicles. Ive found that its common to find campers in Longbow with a few snipers, one well placed wraith shot can team-frag them even being out of sight. It does require a lot of skill though.<<
EDITED: My opinion of the wraith on longbow.
Wraith tank on ragnarok instead of mantis would decrease camping as I find the wraith better for close quarters (scorpion longer range cus of fast, straight shot)
> Wraith tank on ragnarok instead of mantis would decrease camping as I find the wraith better for close quarters (scorpion longer range cus of fast, straight shot)
The odd thing is that the Wraith is also easier to fight in close quarters, or that it to say that it’s a lot less frustrating for infantry to try to handle.
All in all it needs a much greater presence and BTB, and it should be the model for Halo 5 heavy vehicles as well. They don’t need to hand out free killing frenzies, just throw big explosions at people in the most hectic way possible.

It very useful in taking out campers and vehicles. Any vehicle driven like a mobile gravity hammer simply begs to be fragged. The plus here is even doing this gets kills.
As long as it dosen’t replace scropin tanks, I’m all for it
Any maps that were recreated from previous releases that had Wraiths on them should work reasonably well in H4. BTB maps created for H4 seem to be particularly well suited for the MANTIS more than any other heavy vehicle. The MANTIS is 343i’s baby and although it is primarily a mobile anti-aircraft bunker it seems to be remarkably capable of dominating just about anything you throw at it (especially anything created by Bungie).
I always liked the Wraith because you could shoot enemies you couldn’t see and you could shoot from behind cover. If you use them as you would use a Scorpion you would likely fail. I believe the people that play-tested 343i’s maps were not Wraith enthusiasts, did not fare well if they used Wraiths, and did not recommend their placement on large maps, and did not recommend altering said maps to accommodate the Wraith’s abilities.
Perhaps one day we might see some forged maps that will let Wraiths shine.

Don’t know much about these as there’s always people going for these I just let it be.

That’s exactly why its a perfect counter to campers.
custom maps for btbts would be great. cud someone provide a hints and tips for ctf maps making. will try something now that there’s no btb maps for wraith. thks.
