I recently played an Invasion gamemode and witnessed a couple things that just baffles me and ticks me off.
During the second half of the game when the now-on-the-offense team wins the second phase, somebody had a Wraith and when someone else grabbed the core he jumped on top of the Wraiths main gun and the driver boosted away from the starting point while the core holder riding on top didn’t slip off or suffer any damage at all and was able to score the final point of the game with in about 15 seconds after the second phase was won.

Wraith Driver: [CLASSIFIED] - Core Holder: [CLASSIFIED] - Map: Breakpoint. Before that part happened I was on the Wraith gunner helping my team out when it was our turn, but as I got out of the turret to try to help with the bomb planting, I got stuck on top of the turret and I couldn’t get away from the turret leaving me locked in place as target practice.
The first part was bad enough but when the Wraith was also used as a damage-free player launcher in an objective game mode who had the core in hand without causing a betrayal or even slipping off was just absurd.
Am I the only one who’s ticked off about this? Did anyone else lost an Invasion game to this too or even used this to win? I even recorded it in action on GameDVR.

Thats not how its supposed to work. This has to be a bug…
It has been used since OG reach my friends and I also load core, bombs, flags, etc onto wraiths.
This has been a thing since original Reach, and you can do it with other vehicles as well (the Wraith is easiest). It’s less a bug and more of a quirk with the physics of the game, and since it’s been around for almost 10 years now it’s not likely to go away, heck, it might not even be fixable.
Without using the Wraith’s boost its more fair all told because it makes more sense along with the Scorpion since they aren’t going fast enough to hurt or splatter as long as you’re away from the business end of the guns or the treads.

I can’t really remember if I ever saw that quirk being exploited in-game online during the 2010 OG days, my memory ain’t that good (its been 10 years so cut me a break). So if it can’t be fixed in THAT regard on MCC with 343’s desire to follow the OG loyalty to the letter then maybe this should be considered a note for Infinite’s Wraith boost programing. The boost can stay, but if someones standing on top of the big gun maybe they should be a little more prone to slipping off when it’s used. Just sayin’…

This trick was definitely used back then, but it was pretty uncommon. The main reasons were 1) it requires some teamwork to pull off, 2) it required some good timing on the launched player’s part (it’s pretty easy to kill yourself if you land wrong or hit something) and 3) many people just don’t tend to play objective games for the objective.
The only other games this trick (kind of) works in are Halo 2 and 3, but the results are nowhere close to Reach, mainly because the physics are a little less “over-the-top”, shall we say, in the other games. In Halo 1, 4 and 5 the trick doesn’t work at all.
Considering Infinite is running on a brand new engine and not an up-scale Halo 2 engine like the other games are things might interact differently. We’ll see when the game releases if there’s any more physics fun to be had.
I do this all the time if my team cooperates and have had people do it against me. It’s tons of fun but not easy to pull off. I basically try to do it every time.
