So something that I’ve noticed is that wraiths have a ridiculous death animation where they can still take damage once they’re destroyed. With the wraith bosses this can ruin the match by giving the kill to the wrong team and with normal kills it just allows teammates to steal kills after you’ve hijacked them. I don’t see how this was ever an issue in the first place? You hijack a vehicle and you should get the kill…
Yeah, if you unload an SMG into a wraith after someone plants a grenade, you will probably get awarded the kill. It will even say it’s a grenade kill because you are being awarded their kill incorrectly. I usually stop shooting if I see someone board because I have taken a few by accident, and the person doing the work planting the grenade deserves the kill.
what do you mean ive not had any trouble with this do you have a video?
and if youre talking about people killing the tank before the grenade goes off that happens, it should happen means your team is doing their job and destroying an enemy.
and as far as i know enemy ai cant be hijacked.
I never thought of it as stealing a kill after a hijacking since that enemy can hijack it back. That being said, the hijacker should get the kill. Along the same lines, you should be able to bust a hijacker by shooting a nearby rock, as with a tank or wraith. You damage your vehicle but the hijacker should have died.
Yes this happens to me. I’m shooting my DMR at a wraith then a splaser destroys it and I get the splaser kill. I always feel bad for the guy with the splaser.

Funny how that happens. I got a running riot after dropping in a game. It wasn’t the team I got put in that had the riot because everyone had quit. It was one of the farmers on the other team that “gave” me the running riot.
This is an odd glitch and I am always one to avoid it. I would had to be a -Yoink- and steal someone’s kill when they unloaded a rocket launcher on it.

Doesn’t really need a video people have been talking about this for a while now. It’s wierd because after you plant a grenade, someone will shoot the tank before it goes off and will not only get the kill but a grenade icon tends to come up for them. You would think they would have the icon of whatever weapon they were using.

I disagree with that statement a hijack with a grenade is an instant kill over shooting it to death its like an assassination and what happens when someone shoots and kills the person you’re assassinating, they get the kill for it.
I’ve talked about this glaring issue with the game till I was blue in the face. 343i won’t acknowledge it and most people don’t understand or are too dumb to agree with something that is CLEARLY an oversight on 343i’s part of this design.
There’s no way tanks work like that ON PURPOSE. It’s infuriating when it happens to enemy player tanks and yours, but the most frustrating is tank master rok. You and your team can be unloading the WORLD on him, but a guy spraying him with an SMG on the other team will get the kill 95% of the time.
That simply doesn’t happen with other bosses (or at least, not nearly as much) because of tank death mechanics and how kills are decided on them.
Fix: make it so the kill for the tank is locked in to the person that causes it to go through the death explosion animation. AKA no further damage is calculated on the tank after that point.

Your post has NOTHING to do with ANYTHING. Stop trying to derail what is a pretty serious problem with this game that not many people like to talk about for whatever reason.

There is a weird thing we’re when you blow up a wraith it takes a moment to actually be destroyed, thus if you are to shoot it in that small time frame you are awarded the kill rather then the person who actually did the work. It’s just an oversight bug really.
Well, this explains why I got a Hail Mary on a tank by the armoury that I was shooting from the core
The game sometimes has trouble and gets confused from time to time, ive gotten hail marys with DMRs, Its all algorithms and it probably defaults to that
Yeh I’m talking about the grenade is attached, exploded and I’m off the wraith safely but then as the wings eject off and it exploded someone sprays at it and gets the kill.
After the lethal damage is done, the Wraith takes about a second to collapse to the ground before exploding and killing the driver. However, because the kill doesn’t happen until it explodes, any damage done between the “kill shot” and the actual explosion reattributes the kill. It’s why people always carry around an SMG and spray it at Wraiths and Wraith bosses whenever someone plants the grenade. It’s an easy kill and you don’t have to do any of the work. The driver should die right as the kill shot (or grenade detonation) happens, and this is also when the vehicle should be counted dead. Granted the rest of the animation should play, but the vehicle and its driver should be counted dead the moment the shot happens that takes the Wraith’s health below 0.
Also it should be noted this also occurs for Scorpions though the window of opportunity for kill-stealing is smaller.

You have no idea how many Splaser kills got stolen from me like this ;_;
Happens to me all the time. Never happened to me in any previous Halo.
It’s not the only weird one. I got a mantis gunner kill the other day when I wasn’t even in a mantis. I only boarded one and planted a grenade. I got the mantis destroyed with it too.
This is nothing compared to the Wraith I boarded and planted a grenade on that didn’t die earlier. Blew up in the back of it and everything, Wraith turned and killed me and drove off.
Also, I don’t know if it awards points or not, but if you clip an allied vehicle and the enemy blows it up, you get a vehicle assist medal for the machine the ally was driving. Found that out earlier when I tried to shoot someone off the back of a Scorp and didn’t get them until just after they’d planted the 'nade. Scorp blew up and I received a Scorpion Assist.
The whole system seems to be screwed up lately.
