Honestly I didnt care about ODST first. I just wanted to finally play ranked. But when the update came with ODST and 1000 new gamerscore I was pretty excited and happy.
Then I started playing it coop legendary with just 1 of my buddys. And we went through the game soooo fast. Way faster then I remember. We saw that for some levels the time to beat was only around for minutes. We didnt try to speedrun, we were going for the par scores, so we killed everything.
It was so easy, we almost never died at the same time and we even got the “speedrun” achievement in under 3 hours without even trying
I honestly cant remember it being so short and so easy.
I remember sitting two hours on vidmaster achievements though.
Anyone else?
ODST was originally suppose to be an Add on to Halo 3 but was decided to instead be it’s own game which came with some interesting new ways of playing Halo, and came with firefight and every single map pack of Halo 3’s multiplayer. Of course it was short and such, but it’s gameplay was what made it a unique experience. Remember, ODST originally came out back in 2009.
Yep. The public outcry when it came out at $60 was insane. The game should’ve been a $20 game. But bungie wanted it to count as one of the 2 games still owed to MS. So they threw in all the Halo 3 map packs trying to justify the price. Which didn’t go over well for many people like myself already owned all the map packs.
It was when people’s faith in bungie started to begin to crumble. I know it ruined mine. Reach then Destiny were the final blows. Totally not getting Destiny 2.

Yup ODST is VERY short and it was indeed insane they charged $60.00 for it at launch. Just beyond insane. I refused to buy ODST for that price since it was just basically a Halo 3 add on. So I waited just before the Reach Beta came out and bought ODST for $20.00 to play the beta. When the beta ended, I traded ODST back in. You are also right that ODST is exactly when peoples faith in Bungie started to go downhill. It was a slap in the face to the community to charge $60.00 for ODST.
It is a lot longer playing solo of course, but what it might lack in length it makes up for in story telling, atmosphere, and the awesome missions and power weapons you are constantly using. Truly a great showing of the Halo sandbox in ODST
Agreed, it’s very short and is truly an expansion pack, more than anything.
ODST is tied with Reach for me being the best Halo games, pretty much the opposite to Theron XD
Thr atmosphere, the characters (Firefly cast ftw), story, weapons, everything. There’s nothing like it, and it’s -Yoinking!- brilliant.
never got my code…=( i know its only $5 but i was supposed to get a free code…

You only need to ask xbox support for one.
It was short, but quality over quantity…
Might be short, but it’s a brilliant addition to the Halo games!
We did the par time yesterday. Some missions take 2-3 minutes
The only “longer” missions are the last two, but only because you have to wait for Virgil all the time.
I enjoy the game, and I enjoyed it back in the days. But I really cant remember it being so short and easy.
Still have LASO to do though.

Couldnt have said it better my friend…
I played destiny until level 7 and realize it was probably one of the worst games I ever played. It wasn’t for me thats for sure… I’m no longer a Bungie fan or a Destiny one…
Ahhh yes, I recall 2009 very well for this topic… ODST, or “Halo: Recon”… the add-on turned into a full game and the public tongue-lashing that was given by fans for an obvious cash-grab by Bungie at that time…

Yup one of the first worst decisions made by Bungie. Recon/ODST should have NEVER been $60.00.
it’s pretty short, but you can allways turn some skulls on

Me too lol, I just said screw it and spent 5 bucks on it. Come to think of it o haven’t got my 1 month of Xbox live either
Needs Firefight or else it has no playback value, Firefight and Halo 3 map DLC made that game.

Haven’t played co-op yet, but have been picking away quite quickly solo. Looking forward to Legendary co-op.
The length comes from finding all the Audio Logs and exploring Mombasa Streets. The Missions are pretty short, but I would argue that it is the best story telling in the series. Some people think it wasn’t worth it, but I think that it’s the best campaign in the series.
Ya, it was really short and the price tag was ridiculously high for most people.
It wasn’t a big deal to me since I was still playing H3 on an almost daily basis at that point.
