Wow...just finished the campaign (Spoilers)

I can’t believe all that just happened…Cortana turns bad, Master chief reunited with Halsey and arbiter…It was so crazy…And even the infinity is running scared. God, I have to wait another 3 years to find out what happens next…I absolutely loved the campaign, 2nd best, jut behind halo 3. My two gripes with the story are the cut scenes… Just as things heat up, it ends seemingly abruptly and my second gripe would be why does Cortana turn bad, after all that bonding with master chief and saving the universe a bunch of times… you would think the universe being safe is alot more important than AI immortality. Also, love how the last objective was titled “Finish the fight”…Nice.

I agree, it was a total surprise.

There is only 1 complaint I have about the campaign as a whole, though.

It ended on a cliffhanger and I have to wait 3 years to find out what happens next!

Only on third mission, Cortana turning bad somehow didn’t surprise me.

I agree. I kinda had a feeling where they were headed pretty early in the story which i dunno if it was bad job of trying to throw a plot twist or we are all geniuses.

so did halo 2

Cortana goes bad because a fragment of her touched the Domain, and that fragment was effected by the Logic Plague the Gravemind has done to many others, on top of that, her corrupted form suddenly became obsessed with Forerunner ways of thinking.Hope this helps

Thank you. A post praising the campaign. Tired of people being up in arms b/c it wasn’t what they were expecting.
Loved this campaign. Very fun and the story was so immersive, which has lacked in past Halo games tbh. Very happy with purchase on this one.

And people were annoyed about that too.

Can you source Cortana’s influence by the logic plague? I’ve read many of the books but haven’t gotten to that yet if it is indeed canon. Also, the logic plague of the flood and the forerunners are in opposition to one another, so its not the “forerunner ways of thinking” its one or the other.

No disrespect, I’m just digging to understand out what’s happened and going to happen and I don’t believe all hope is lost for Cortana. Even Mendicant Bias eventually attempted to redeem His actions as detailed in H3 terminals…

She is maybe deceived or misled, but I believe she will come around

I’m not gonna lie. Although I thought the story was good overall, I was super bummed Medicant Bias didn’t make an appearance in the game.

And that my friend starts the next hype train. 343 did it right.

Idk why the reviews for the campaign r so mixed. Some pple say it was a lousy excuse for a plot and others like all of u guys r happy with it. Why? What’s going on cuz I thought it was good to

A lot of pple wanted more chief vs Locke. We got that in this game. Just a taste tho and it was a mouthful. That cutscene with them was amazing. If the whole game was like that it would’ve gotten old. This is what happened in the begging until the twist happenes

Looking forward in engaging the story shortly. Already aware what is to behold based on posts and video cut scenes I’ve seen on YouTube. All superb I think

I loved the Campaign. I have no complaints about the story really. In the beginning though I was pissed about the lack of detail with low res textures and lack of the small things, like not being able to kill birds out of the sky or AI allies (like in previous games), weird controls, shot enemies don’t stagger, ugly settings, but then as the campaign progressed, I got used to that stuff and really enjoyed myself.

I loved Sanghelios the most and that kind of made up for the earlier ugly levels. I loved that singing grunt too. lol… That Forerunner planet place was also cool.

I hated the Wardens. I played solo on Legendary, so eff those Wardens. Never again. lol…

Overall, I really enjoyed the Campaign.

Totally agree, loved the campaign and really looking forward to running through it again (and again).

With regards to Cortana, I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out that during his 100,000 years in the Cryptum the Didact was actually in contact with the Domain. And the mallidiction the Gravemind embedded in his mind actually infected the Domain itself.

Then when the semi-rampant shard of Cortana, she had also be “at the mercy” of a Gravemind for sometime, joined with the Domain that mallidiction was actually magnified and that is what has twisted Cortana so much. Leaving aside the fact that she lost a huge amount of herself fighting to overcome the shield and the Didact on Mantle’s Approah.

I agree, to me it ended just like Halo 2, when chief said he’s going to “finish this fight” but then the game ends and we had to wait until Halo 3. This time when chief and Locke came back together, I was expecting one last crazy mission with Blue Team, Fireteam Osiris, and the Arbiter all fighting alongside one another. But nope, all we get is Halsey saying… “It took you long enough”.
Personally, I think my ending sounds better…

Your ending does sound quite good.
