The match starts off fine. I get first kill. Then either the host drops or what ever. Come back, lag nation. So, restart. Lag. Restart .lag. this went on like 7 times before the match terminates. Then I get thrown in a JiP. What fun.

yep have had plenty of games like that, and have had good games now and then also. Ive read that it has to do with Netcode and also has to do with where matchmaking picks players from.
will have to see what its doing later on tonight (promised someone I would play tonight), if its laggy 1 game will be it and Ill go back to bordrlands 2
Yesterday was atrocious for erratic lag.
Oddly enough, I wound up playing with 3 Japanese guys on a BTB team and one was the host. That was the least laggy game I played all Sunday and most of the USA hosted games were atrocious lag ( 1 to 5 seconds to toss a grenade - 0.5 to 1 second player lag for aiming).
I checked my ping time to various servers in North America and the worst case was 70 ms down to florida (that’s ~ 4,000 miles round trip from Calgary as the crow flies) - so why it was so bad I have no idea (other than Lag switches). I have download rates of 30+ Mbps, upload of 2.8 MBps and local oing times of ~ 30 ms - so it isn’t my connection.
I also noticed that the NetCode was always picking hosts that had low Spartan Rank (< 30), many of the hosts picked had multiple players on the same XBox (in some cases 4 people) and a lot of them bailed shortly after the game hit around 500 points had been reached.

the number of players dropped by 4000 over last weeks sunday numbers. I guess the lag just drives people away -and who can blame them with craptacular poor methodology of picking hosts. When your fighting lag, who wants to play multi player.
