Everytime a playlist came out on the rotation, it had a specific purpose of being on that rotation, and was on it’s way to be a permanent playlist in either social/ranked etc. ?
For example, a playlist that hadn’t been there at launch goes into rotation as a temporary playlist that gets played, gets feedback, gets removed and fine tuned as a permanent playlist or comes back into rotation as version 2 for a second phase of feedback to become a permanent playlist or gets added as a permanent playlist?
How many playlists do you think there’d be by now if this was the method from the beginning? What do you guys think? Are you tired of playlists coming and going?
to me - …I mean… the more the merrier? If I got a big selection of activities to do… why wouldn’t I like that? What reason possible would I say “nah guys. Please remove these playlists… better yet… how about leaving them out for a few months guys… because I think we’ll have an interest in playing it in a few months maybe.” ?
Idk about you guys, but I hate the whole rotational thing. I get some playlists did become permanent through that method, but why not just make them all permanent?
What’s worse as a player? Seeing a playlist that might not be super populated but still being able to play it? Or the playlist being removed entirely and never being able to play it?
Who’d say don’t put all the playlists in? Who’d say… just put them all in? If I don’t like it, I won’t play it. What I don’t like or like isn’t what you like or don’t like. As far as I’m concerned, having to scroll down and see additional playlists doesn’t break the game for me. Throw them all in! It’s been long enough. Is this not possible or something? In what way is it bad?
Edit - I guess it’s too late for a thread like this to matter in halo 5. It would seem obvious for halo 6 to be different in regards to total playlists available, etc. I just wish halo 5 wasn’t seen as a lost cause in certain aspects.
More playlists means less players per playlist which means less healthy matchmaking. It would be especially apparent in a game as old as Halo 5. The best time in a multiplayer game’s life for the highest number of playlists is in the beginning.

So punish the players for having different tastes in what they want to do because the overall population is low? It’s like… you’re -Yoink!- if you do and -Yoink!- if you don’t.
I mean from that perspective… why’s the custom games browser in the game? Doesn’t that remove players from matchmaking making it unhealthy?
The game came out pretty sparce with playlists… I think we can safely assume lots of players didn’t see some of their favored playlists available. Some of them even left the game entirely one can assume. It’s one of the biggest complaints this game has.
I’ve always thought to myself…why is there no social slayer? Then thought… well… if the population is really as low as everyone thinks it is… having a social slayer would make you think… well… now there’s just less players in ranked slayer… but then… if social slayer existed from the start… you’d also think… well hey… all those guys who weren’t ready for ranked had tons of time to practice in social. They’d have stayed in the game playing a mixture of both vs immediately hating the game, being frustrated from doing bad, getting sent msgs from people for doing bad, and having such a bad taste in their mouth that they end up popping in another disk.
Maybe this threads just way to late for it to matter. Though my honest opinion? It would have mattered a lot at some point. You’re of course free to have a different opinion. I understand some of your point, but I still just really don’t like the way playlists are handled. When certain playlists exist in the game… it’s the difference of playing for 30 minutes to playing for 2 + hours for some players. To me, the overall enjoyment experience significantly goes up. Especially when I’ve witnessed friends stay on for long hours when some playlists are available while when they’re not…literally its like 2 matches and they’re off.
I really agree with the last point you made btw. I must have read it too fast initially

So much this dude… read my last response. Please tell me if it makes sense, or if my train of thoughts flawed.

I 100% agree with that last part. I edited my first reply because I must have read it too fast and focused too much on your first point.
Even still though…I mean… man… so is halo 5 just considered a lost cause in so many aspects now? I get halo 6 is going to eventually come out and all… but that won’t be for awhile. Idk how halo 6 will be thought of by gamers if the initial thought comes from the halo 5 experience. It’s such a hit or miss game for people, and a lot has to do with its launch days. I guess I just find myself wishing I could get more people back into it. I’ve noticed some did return at certain points when certain playlists existed. They went away as fast as those got off rotation though.

The idea sounds good but I don’t think it’ll work especially in halo 5. You need a “cap” on the amount of things you can do. Reason for it is you only have X amount of players. Halo isn’t as popular as it use to be where it can boast of a giant player base it’s just simply not like that anymore. So if you have all these perm playlist you would be spreading out the population too thin which leads to longer load times if it’s ranked then the possibility of playing against players who don’t fall in the same skill as you.
I do think halo 5 needs a refresh of playlists for social and etc an additional one or two wouldn’t be bad ( I know a lot of people want a social Slayer). Who knows maybe they’ll have a good system down for H6. We can only wait and hope

It’s a lost cause. Might as well just leave it as is and work on halo 6. Idk why I made this thread. It’s no longer a fresh game anymore, and more and more players are on their way out with all these other games coming out. A social slayer would be awesome. I can’t warm up at all man…I have to hop right into slayer and have a few horrible matches before I get in the groove. By that point sometimes I feel too frustrated to even keep playing.
When I finally got my shot on point…people quit every match…Its so hard to have fun in this game sometimes…thats why i would want more playlist

I feel you mate I try to grab a bud and do some hypetagon before I run into slayer to warm up a little bit but people quitting is so annoying.

The thing is, more playlists don’t mean that you get more variety, since as already explained, the population would be spread too much and you wouldn’t even be able to find a full lobby to play in this particular playlist since it would be lacking the necessary players. it would be pretty much pointless having this playlist included.
that’s the reason why 343i has rotational playlists, this way they can find out which playlists get how much attention and conclude afterwards by this data if a playlist got a big enough population to validate a permanent playlist or not because of lacking players.

As long as we don’t get a destiny 2 thing where we get 2 playlist at any point of halo.

Do you think this thread what have mattered early into the game’s life? I get what you’re saying. I mean hell dude, I kept matching the same dudes repeatedly last night even when I’d dashboard before the match initialized. I could tell the population is low as heck now. Before I guess I just didn’t want to believe it man. I think if halo 6 has a big variety at launch, then the more the merrier. For halo 5, you’re right, and that’s why I said halo 5s a lost cause. Why bother. I guess I shoulda thought about all that before posting.

I need to bookmark/or whatever it’s called, a good octagon with good spawns, that isn’t too big for magnum use. I go into custom browser but I end up facing a lot of people with bad connections or bad octagons.
A friend you say ? Bro those no longer exist for me =[

As far as I’m concerned, having to scroll down and see additional playlists doesn’t break the game for me. Throw them all in! It’s been long enough. Is this not possible or something? In what way is it bad?

Halo isn’t as popular as it use to be where it can boast of a giant player base it’s just simply not like that anymore. So if you have all these perm playlist you would be spreading out the population too thin which leads to longer load times if it’s ranked then the possibility of playing against players who don’t fall in the same skill as you.

Please remove these playlists… better yet… how about leaving them out for a few months guys… because I think we’ll have an interest in playing it in a few months maybe.” ?

I found a group, but the groups small and they’re on a diff time zone than me. I’ve posted in recruiting to make that clan bigger and just for friends but it gets no real hits. I feel like a year ago it would have, but yea man… the population must be pretty small. Or at least it feels that way these days

All playlists in halo 5? Or you mean all playlists will exist in halo 6 at launch?
