In Halo 2 you had the chance to play as an Elite, form there it continued through Halo 3 through Halo Reach…
My Question to You is :Would you want to play as an Elite again? Yes / Why or No Why not?
My Answer / opinion is Yes. Why? Well because, we already have a glimpse of what the spartans will be able to do? sure its just the beta phase, but we already know what 343 wants the gameplay to be like, " Competitive " almost fast pace it seems like, doesn’t matter to me, its just that, if your going to be able to do all these abilities in multiplayer, then who is to say that you won’t be able to do the abilities in the Halo 5 campaign? If so, then they game will be unbalanced, even on Legendary. The Spartans seem a little to overpowered compared to the elites and forerunners.
I say bring the elites back and give the some or equal abilities.
With a ton of customization.
Let me know what you think or if you know anything that i don’t know on this topic…
No I would not. It is not that I don’t like the elites, though I do chose spartans mostly. But for the fact that It would not make much since inside the whole scheme of things. This is them improving there skills in a simulated combat and it is even more easier to see with the opening of the elimination game-type they have added. I feel like they could do a lot more to the game instead of focusing resources, time, and money unto another way a player can look. With the elites, they would need to adjust hit-boxes, customization, look of things, jump height, because they are much taller then regular spartans, since they are a bigger target, people are going to complain that they are dying faster with them. speciesist (being prejudice to a certain type of thing) will soon take hold and soon elites will need a shield buff and a damage low and ect. ect.
End verdict. No keep it Spartans only to allow more features to happen
some spartans might want to be an elite i guess. elites could have similar abilities, some elites have those thrusting jetpacks in H2, i guess it could be in H5 too. but id rather it be spartans, it suits the concept better
Yes, at the very least put in invasion.
To me it makes sense that thel’s elites would train with the spartan 4’s.
Tbh, I would love Sangheili… even if its cosmetic and limited to custom games, forge and the like… if 343 Industries can dedicate some time for a Halo 2: Directors Cut with a Silenced SMG and Assault Rifle? Why not add the fan favourite playable Elites… this would satisfy custom gamers, machinima directors… heck we could even see some sort of matchmaking cameo via invasion (UNSC v Covenant); Firefight Versus (UNSC V Covenant)… etc.

I hear you on that, And yeah, with the hit box’s and how the health system worked in reach, it was some what unbalanced.
That and with time and money, when the game comes out and if they did manage to put elites in, then there would be a ton of bugs i imagine.

Yes, correct indeed, some Spartans might want to be elites, So why not? Yes in Halo 2, Some elites had the jet pack, with was like the first ability for a character, " That i seen in Halo " BUt they’ve already put time and effort in to spartans and i cant imagine them trying to add elites and trying to balancing them out with spartans,
Yes! I wouldn’t play as an elite that much. But for the sake of the machinima community… we need elites, it’s no wonder why all machinimas are still made in Reach (and now MCC). At least let us play as them in custom games.

I totally agree, at least put in invasion, Why bring back the arbiter and his elites and not have elites playable…

Exactly… make time to bring back a fan fav playable character… With a game mode

I couldn’t agree with you more, Reach is the crown jewel for Halo Machinima’s… For the community… 343, for the community!
if you said no please do the world a favour by getting yourself off the nearest cliff now.
Am I the only one who wants to be a brute? sad panda face
Personally I don’t like the idea of a simulation (it limits the experience for me) but yeah put in elites we need more machinima and variety in Halo.
Elites are a big part of Halo and have always been the iconic Spartan counterpart. We already know that not having them playable in H4 upset many people. But seeing all of these abilities does make you wonder how Elites would get balanced in H5. Obviously, they wouldn’t be using the same abilities as Spartans if they were to exist in H5. They would have to have different but “equal” abilities. We’ve actually seen them balanced this way in a Halo game before. So these are the 2 situations I see happening.
A) No elites. Which sucks because they are extremely important to Halo. And I don’t think we’ve heard of them being in the Beta, which supports there being no Elites. If Elites were going to be playable in H5, I think that they’d want some beta time with them, considering that the Elites would have Different abilities.
B) They do it like Reach. Spartans and Elites had different properties in Reach. Due to this, Elites have little form in matchmaking. It would suck, but at least we’d have Elites without having to deal with the challenge of balancing them with Spartans. Which seems like it would be very hard to do in H5.

I could never understand this emerging argument. Why the hell cant sangheili do these so called “spartan” abilities. I think an extremely large sum of them are perfectly capable of aiming, sprinting, sliding, clambering, and charging. And they’re armor is still leagues more advanced than mjolinir, so I think it can support built in thrusters, so again, why do they need a completely different set of abilities from the spartans when they are already capable of such feats?

Well, simply put, I think that some of the abilities might not translate to them as well. Visually, that is. I almost feel as though seeing a ground pounding elite would be a little strange… And would sliding work the same for them? Its those little things I think about due to their body structure being different. And I think that Spartan’s are established as more agile than Elites. I dunno, maybe you’re right.

Well, ground pounding in Halo is strange in general, whether it be unggoy or jiralhanae. And besides, the sangheili do not need to share the same animation, and could do with a more fitting one. As of for sliding, I actually imagine that sliding would be even more effective for the sangheili, as their extra joint would allow for much quicker recoveries and and more control over the speed for the slide, so it would most definitely work for them.

Agreed… And thanks.
