Would you use the Ravager Or Pulse Carbine More If they Buffed it?

I’ve been thinking about the way the sandbox is right now and I try to notice patterns in the way people play the game. Most people realize what works and what doesn’t pretty quickly. I almost never see anyone but maybe a bot pick up and use the pulse carbine or ravager or needler for instance.

If they made the weapons more viable, would you even want to use them? I mean if nothing else are they fun or interesting enough to make you want to pick up and get kills with?

For me I honestly can’t say if I would or not, because I just don’t like the weapons from a design standpoint. About the only reason I pick any of them up or use them Is because I have no other options, or there’s a challenge or something. Game feel is an important topic to consider and idk if the Ravager or pulse carbine feel right enough to play more.

I mean of course if they make them OP I will use them because that’s the meta, but if they just balance it more where they’re mildly viable then I don’t see it. Do any of you even like these weapons?

I like their function, but they are next to worthless at it when the AR still do just fine.

The ravanger can definitely be a good weapon I would pick up.

I personally like the idea of the pulse carbine, I see it as kinda a support weapon. Kinda just sit back and lob projectiles into others gun fights. Back of the pack kind of weapon.

Ah yes, the old “this won’t hurt my team, so I may as well set off a nuke on the middle of that battle.”

The pulse carbine is pretty strong is be surprised if they don’t nerf it. Its homing is op when properly leading the shots.

In what world is the pulse carbine strong when everyone starts with an AR that also shreds shields AND is a hit scan?

The ravager. Like the mauler, it has an easier time locking in melee kills, so I need it to be a little less useless.

Ravager needs a damage buff to be sure.

I think pulse carbine just needs a lock-on range buff. The damage is fine when it hits, and its already easier to dodge at long-range anyway. It’d make it a good gun for picking off people in the open.

Due to the AR, short-range weapons need a really quick TTK or ease of use to feel worth it, part of why the bulldog feels questionable in use.

Make yourself a bot match with only the pulse carbine and tell me if it needs a buff. If the bots even let you near them while they are using that thing.

The Pulse Carbine is very strong. Pair it with a BR or Stalker Rifle and you can get mid-long range kills faster than the opponent can react.

It’s only good when you have a longer sight line, not in close quarters. Honestly, it can be too good. I got a Killing Frenzy by camping at the top of the tower in Live Fire with the Pulse Carbine and BR, and using the Repulsor to send anyone that got close into the water :joy:

pulse carbine can be buffed to be a 3 hit kill for all i care, still won’t do anything because even a toddler on the sticks could out strafe it

I would gladly use the Ravager if it had an all-around damage buff or at least something to make it better than a tickle damage explosive with almost no splash radius or a tickle damage fire AoE.

But I don’t know if I will ever like the Pulse Carbine. I much preferred the Carbine and Plasma Rifle compared to the weird-homing-burst thing we have now.

honestly close combat is the only way I’ve been able to use it effectively. One burst and a melee is a kill so I just use it like a plasma rifle

Yes

Yes i would

The pulse carbine works in Btb but not 4v4

I saw a video on youtube (can’t recall the channel) where he explained how to effectively use the pulse carbine, and after practicing his techniques a bit, I love the pulse carbine. It isn’t a killing weapon, but at mid range, zoom in and fire a burst or two at the enemy’s head and then switch to a precision weapon for the headshot. I think the game just doesn’t explain how to use it well enough, but I find it to be really fun, if even still a bit finicky
