Some people on the forums are discussing how halo 4 should include a nefed down vesion of the jetpack. The JumpPack only allows the player to elevate by 2 or 3 times the default jump height. And it also keeps players from staying in the air for long periods of time.
My hypothesis is that the majority of people who voted jumpjet over jetpack are people who dislike the idea of a jetpack in halo over all, and wouldn’t use it either way, and choose jumpjet merely as a less annoying alternative.
How would a jumpjet compare to the other armor abilities? I don’t believe this would be a game changer as AA should be in some way, it seems little more than a modification(halo 4’s new perk system) on steroids. And ultimately be boring.
Would you use it?
I would rather have a Jetpack instead of a Jumpjet. I don’t see a problem with the Jetpack.
It worked well in Star Wars Battlefront 2 even though that game lacked other great AAs
It could be used to board a banshee, avoid a splat, get up high on a building or get some high ground, or just a quick escape or to throw someones aim off.
Still, I could live with a Halo 4 without any AA, especially camo and jetpack.

You copied me word for word here…

Literally, word… for… word…
And yes, I would definitely use it.
And also, I loved the Jetpack, yet my JumpPack thread is the most committed.
I believe 343 is aiming for AA that are more like tools than abilities.
JumpPack would fit perfectly.
I would definetly use a jump pack over a jet pack. With a jet pack i feel at a disadvantage because im out in the open for anyone to kill me and i have no cover whatsoever

Personaly… this doesn’t seem like it would do much more than help you over an obstacle(at your definition of just 2-3 times the normal hight), and if jetpack broke map flow, I belive this would do the same.
And also, I didn’t feel like defining the jumpjet myself so I copied and pasted lol.

Jetpacks break map control because they allow players to cross large holes or gaps they shouldn’t.
And because it allows players to go over things instead of walking around.
The maps are strategically designed, but Jetpack negates strategy and makes it’s own rules.
And yes, that’s because all it’s supposed to do is provide a boost. Nothing more.
And like I said earlier.
I’m pretty sure 343 is aiming to make AAs more like tools than abilities.
No biggy. My hands get lazy too.
Over the jetpack? Any day.
I don’t think anyone should be able to get that much height advantage without using the map. Jetpack or jumpjet, I don’t like either. You can still jump up and rain nades from hell in a jumpjet
So a small-scale version of this is boring?
Plus, you seem to not have experienced super jumping in H2. Though I never got to experience the actual thing, there is a pseudo super jump on Metropolis right when the Scarab is moving. It can be fun and I believe it can be used with super jump.
