This is just a simple question to all of the 343 fanboys and sprint fanboys who say they are true halo fans and would buy and play halo no matter what. There’s nothing deeper about this post I’m not here to say if its bad or good or if it needs to go away. There is nothing more to this post then these questions.
Would you still buy halo if halo 6 did not have sprint? If the next halo game was more like halo 2/3 would you buy it and play it?
Again this question is only for people who defend sprint and say they are true fans of halo.
Edit: The reason I ask this is because I see so many people going into detail why sprint is bad or why it needs to go. Then I see the pro sprints say things like “its better with it” or “you’re no a true halo fan if you don’t like sprint.” Things like that.
While I agree sprint needs to go that’s go nothing to do with this post, I just want to know if people would play without it.
Edit 2: Next question; I see no point in making another thread for this so I’ll just post it here. If you would buy and play halo without it then why defend it?
The maps have to be changed to accommodate sprint. Look at Midship its almost 2x the size it was in 2/3. Because of this you think you are moving faster when you really aren’t. If you just made a 1:1 remake of a map Sprint would break it. The reason why Sprinting makes the game feel faster is because the maps are fatter. If you took a 1:1 remake of mid ship and took out sprint in customs it would take the same amount of time or about the same amount of time to cross the map walking as it takes crossing the halo 5 remake sprinting.
It also breaks vehicles… There is a major problem with this game when you and sprint faster then the tanks can move. I’m sure that is why they replaced the scorpion with a gauss hog on the long bow remix in BTB.
Halo was never made for sprint in mind and having it does 2 things. Break some parts of the game and forces parts of the game to change to the point where it doesn’t resemble itself.
I have never seen someone come up with a good reason why halo needs sprint or why it should be in the game other then, “because other games have it”. On the other hand I’ve seen 100s of reasons why it should be removed.
So why defend sprint? Why does it have to be in halo?
On a side note. Why did halo 3/reach keep such a large population for so long? halo 3 took years to get down to 30k and now has around 1000 players and halo reach still has 10k-20k (It was keeping 15k until it got on xbox one.). While halo 5 sold around what 2-3 million copys and after only 3 months has only 30k-50k.
No, I am not saying in away way that sprint being in the game has anything to do with the low population. I know its a combination of things. Playlists being a big part of that.
i dont really care for sprint and i feel like sprint does more good then bad and more balanced now but i wouldnt mind if they took out sprint in halo 6 and increased movement speed up to the level that sprint is
Ive played halo for a long time and I wpuld still play it with or with out sprint so it wouldnt bother me

That would make Tanks even weaker then they are now.
Of course. No question! Would prefer it to not have sprint.

removing sprint altogther and making your movement speed as much as sprint. how?
Of course, I would actually like them to make halo 6 a bit more like halo 3
I would buy it… I don’t see the issue with sprint at all… spartan charge on other hand. Can’t stand. But I will always buy halo games
I would buy it because i love halo. I don’t think the game would live long without a sprint if it has to compete with the likes of Gears of War and Call of Duty unless they overhaul the way the game flows. Sure we would go back to how it used to be and the “true” fans would be happy, but the population wouldn’t survive.
I hear people act like sprint is why Halo 5’s population is declining. That’s stupid. The main reason for decline is straight up the lack of content and the fact that everything is REQ unlock now. Sprinting is fun, it is just Spartan Charging that need a good look at.
I would play the game and would much rather prefer it without sprint or these goofy spartan ability gimmicks. Just give me my arena shooter back ffs.

Halo 4 had tons of content and there were no REQ’s. It bled its population in months.

I’d play it either way, if the game mechanics are fun. I didn’t like how sprint was in Reach or 4, so I didn’t play those games for long.
I love how the mechanics were introduced in H5, so I’m sticking around.
I will say this though, going back to MCC, the old Halo games feel painfully slow in comparison to 5. So if they are going to nix SA’s theyll have to replace them with something exciting.
I loved halo because you couldn’t sprint. Gun skilbs used to be more of a factor inoted of a fight focused on Spartan abilities.
Maybe has a home in Warzone but I don’t play that. No place for sprint in arena, cause so much chaos instead of flow

Thats the thing. You think they feel slow. We think thats how Halo is supposed to be paced. When I play Halo 5 I feel like Im playing advanced warfare with shields. Its just personal preference really.
Yes, I’ve played some custom games with H3 settings, no sprint/thrust e.c.t and it still plays amazingly, I dont think Halo needs sprint to be a good game, and I’d actually prefer it without sprint.
I would, it doesn’t end up making much of a difference in the end. The maps will be relatively the same size because they have to be scaled for the gameplay.
On halo 3, mlg gamespeed was increased allowing for faster gameplay. Am I wrong? There are ways to make the characters move a bit faster with without sprint.
If you are 1 shot and can’t run because you’re shield won’t regenerate, essentially anyone on the other team can sprint at you. It’s an unfair advantage unlike if I’m 1 shot moving as fast as everyone else so I can regenerate my shield and not be worried about kids blindly running after me.
Keep players all moving at the same speed and don’t try and copy other games. Halo was unique and im all for evolving games, but it is now searching for an identity which is weird to me. It doesn’t really know what it is. I admit it’s fun to play because it’s halo-ish, but sometimes simple is better. Don’t fix something that wasnt broken.

Yes. Base movement speed just needs to be sped up a little. I dont care what anyone says, there was NOTHING slow about Halo 2 MLG.
