Would you miss the req variants in halo 6?

After the mixed reception of the req system and how it works, I think it’s safe to assume that 343 might be considering to remove it in halo 6 but if they do that they would have no reason to make variants of weapons and vehicles anymore. I doubt that anyone will miss things like the corp warthog or the spitfire but what about unique things such as the sword needler hog and the voids tear that are able to change up gameplay so much? Many custom games based on the req weapons would not be possible anymore and the amazing weapon pad glitch won’t be possible anymore either. If the reqs were removed in halo 6 we’d be losing a huge amount of variety and possibilities with custom games and forge. And if warzone makes a comeback without reqs how would it feel to see nobody spawning a broken vehicle and to see nobody spawn a equally as broken vehicle to fight it? What do you guys think?

I won’t miss it, it was a very redundant system. Even then “if” (and I doubt 343 will drop it regardless of feedback, they’ve never dropped many things that was mixed or disliked) 343 brings it back it needs a serious look into what can make it an actual potential benefit to halo cuz to me it underachieved in h5 and really doesn’t keep my interest.

i wouldn’t miss it. like the whole random number generator thing. i prefer equal starts and not just to everybody who had enough time to grind or just spend real money on a game they already spend 60 bucks on

Personally to me 343 just has to take anything having to do with customization out of the req system and maybe have 1-3 reqs of each base vehicle replenish everyday then I would have no problems with it.

i like warzone. but i wouldnt miss it if it didnt come back the same way in 6

Well to be honest, most of the REQ variants are just like their counterparts but just ‘better.’ Lawgiver is just a better shotgun, Hailstorm is just a better needler, and so on. I think that we can certainly go without REQs like these and just give a slight buff to their regular versions in their place, and keep the REQs that are actually unique. Kirth’s Left Hand, Blood of Suban, Tartarus’ Gavel, Blaze of Glory, The Answer, Dying Star, Whispered Truth, Void’s Tear, Whiplash… Weapons like these actually mix up gameplay and make it feel fresh because the way they function is different from their ordinary counterparts, and they should stay.

REQ variants - weapon or vehicle - never seem to get boring, no matter how many times you use them.

They’re here to stay.

Yes and no. The REQ variants seem to spice up the gameplay making it more appealing to me. I doubt that 343i will ditch the REQ system. Just look how much they made off from the REQ system.

I would miss the diffrent variants.

I would miss the variants a little. They turned Fiesta into Super Fiesta, which is buckets of fun (assuming chance is in your favor). However, I don’t think the REQ system is in danger of going away, for all the negativity it gets publicly. I’m sure 343i has made enough money from it to keep it in the next game.

It’d be a good keep for warzone weapons. Other than that, I’d really like to do achievements for armor unlocking again, or even reaching certain ranks to unlock armor.

But I really love warzone so I would miss it.

You know, the crazy weapons are cool and all… but honestly I feel it oversaturated the game a little with weapons and vehicles.

I wouldn’t mind if it didn’t come back, or at least dosn’t come back in a main halo game.

REQs and REQs variant are here to stay. 343i just need to adjust how we unlock them. Everything that is related to warzone can be based on the RNG I don’t really care, but all armor/skin, etc should either be unlock by level/money and skill. I.e. SR 100 for Mk IV to where you can buy it for X credits. Something similar to reach in term of customization but keep the REQs for Warzone.

Would never miss it.

Yes, what this guy said.

Absolutely not.

If it went away forever, I wouldn’t even blink. I’m tired of unlocking an excessive amount of variants of stupid things I’ll never use, when I’d really just grinding to get something that I’d actually use and want.

Does that mean they’re going to go away? Of course not. Now that they’re there and they can make money off them, there’s no reason for that source of income to all of a sudden disappear. I just hope they implement a store or armory as well as the silly RNG system.

I would not want to lose the answer or prophets bane or… or… voids tear

I definitely would not miss all of the redundant weapon variants in Halo 5 (at least 90% of the loadout weapons, most second-tier single-use weapons and vehicles), and I’d most definitely prefer they not return.

Some, like the variants that play differently, I still wouldn’t miss, but I wouldn’t mind seeing them again.

They probably will not remove it because they must have made more money of off req packs then the profits for the actual game I think
