I was hoping that before they stopped releasing updates, probably after ATN, they would add Keepaway as a gamemode, it was definitely my favorite game mode in the original Halo Wars and quite honestly there isn’t too many gamemodes right now in Halo Wars 2. Let me know what you guys think, should it return or not?
I personally never played many of the other gamemodes in Halo Wars 1, and while I advocate the idea to have more variety, I’m just not sure if having a lot more is the key.
Adding a few tid bits here and there certainly won’t hurt anyone though, strongholds was good, but we could definitely use something else, Keepaway, CTF, Freeforall, a new PVE mode that isn’t facing the AI on legendary!
one or even two of these would work to keep things going.
I still think people are going to play Deathmatch for their life though, it’s how some of the best games ended up, balancing all their work to make one mode, and one mode only be so good, that every other gamemode felt like -Yoink-, but it was still fun to play those other ones every once in a while!
Overwatch did it, and they’re doing pretty well! We could have some of that, you know?

Keepaway is basically CTF, I do agree that if you added a new one it might/might not have enough players, but we do need more variety, I would love to see a return, it was pretty fun.
I’m all for more gamemodes. Variety is king.
