Would you like the Preorder goods unlock?

Hello

I hear that 343i would maybe unlock the preorder goods for every one In the future somehow(As a DLC for example).

Would you like this goods to be unlock on the future? Or would you like them to keep exclusive?

The idea is to let know 343i what we think about it, vote on the poll and feel free to say what you support and why.

Thank you

Pre-orders i don’t really care, Limited edition defiantly not.

343i should do one of 2 things:

  1. Keep the bonuses exclusive and tell the whiny cry babies to shut the yoink up.
    Or
  2. Don’t even have preorder bonuses and have it all in game, on disk.

There is zero point in having preorder bonuses if every one is going to have them in the end. It also ruins the incentive to preorder.

> Pre-orders i don’t really care, Limited edition defiantly not.

I did not think about that.

Shall we take granted that it will remain exclusive? Or shall we make sure to say NO laud and clear?

I agree 90% with that.

If all retailers had the same preorder bonus, then I would be on the fence about it, but how Halo 4’s preorders are, where most retailers have their own combo of bonuses, and some of the ones I want, I can’t get in the US, and some of the bonuses people want aren’t available for out side of the US. I will have to say YES, because It’s kind of like me taking Halo 4 and only selling it to everyone, but you, and then say, “Oh, sorry, but you can’t ever get Halo 4 because you don’t live in the area and/or didn’t preorder it”.

No pre-order bonus and limited edition stuff stays exclusive, I had this same discussion among other forums about bonuses like this

I agree with the above poster, Console DLC and Limited Edition DLC should remain completely exclusive to their owners, as theyve put alot of their cash toward those collectibles and it simply would not be fair to have everyone be able to obtain them through a future DLC option, owners of said items would feel cheated in a way. The pre order bonuses however, its not something I care to much about but I would love to see a few of the more unique ones like the Battle Rifle artic skin, and Locust, Deadeye, Helmet skins become available eventually, those werent given a location to get as a pre order bonus for the United States, alot of people dont even know they exist. I feel some items should always be left as exclusives, but since the pre order bonus items are for the most part skins I dont see the harm in releasing them in time, but not at the release in my opinion.

> There is zero point in having preorder bonuses if every one is going to have them in the end. It also ruins the incentive to preorder.

The point behind preorder bonuses is to get people to preorder, after the game is released, what is the point of a preorder bonus? Bragging rights? It’s not rolling cash to the retailers, 343i, or Microsoft, so on a business point of view, preorder bonuses are only useful for preorder bonuses, and after wards, they’re useless, it’s better to have preorder bonuses, and then later on release them as DLC that people have to pay for. You guys will still have bragging rights, you got something for free.

Normally I’d like the preorder bonus stuff to remain exclusive, but with there being so many different skIns and what not for different stores this time around I really wouldn’t mind a dlc pack of some kind in the future.

First of all Im not some yoink that brags. Second why preorder for extra content when you know it’s just going to be availible later? Timed exclusives are one of the dumbest practices in the games industry.

And having a number of different preorder bonuses for retailers so no more than two or three trailers don’t have the same preorder bonus isn’t?

Preorder bonuses are great, I don’t mind them being a one time deal, only IF there is ONE preorder bonus for all retailers, because then, it’s not a bunch of people being selfish, and not giving everyone a chance to get the preorder bonus they want.

I would LOVE to have the locus Helmet skin, but the only way I can get it, is from mighty ape, which is located in New Zealand, and I live in the US, are you saying I should drop $50+ on shipping for a video game I get here in the US, just to have a preorder bonus? How about those who don’t live in the US, and can’t get the preorders that is only for Game Stop, and they really want that preorder bonus?

This is one of those things where I’m kind of on the fence about, but I honestly do agree exclusives should stay exclusives,. I’d honestly hate for the pre order bonuses to become available then all of a sudden the Limited Editions and Consoles exclusives pop up as DLC, thatd just be a face palm and just a bad move. I liked how Mass Effect 3’s pre order bonuses were, and they have remained nice exclusives.

@Weird Stealth

It seems that I have to pay $5 to pre-order wherever I go. So no, it’s not free and there is no benefit to pre-ordering if the skins will be eventually sold as DLC because the skins will obviously be sold for less than $5 per skin (on average, if it is a bundle).

So, if you fork over the money to pre-order, then good for you. You deserve that pre-order bonus. People that are too lazy to pre-order should not be allowed to get the skins as DLC, unless they are for a higher charge than the pre-order itself.

You do realize that $5 goes toward the GAME, that’s how preorders work, you put down at least $5 to reserve your self a copy, and you can finish paying the full $60 when you pick up the game, or before. Preorder bonuses are FREE stuff that comes with preordering the game. Or do you really think they give you $5 off the game before it’s release, and then up the price an extra $5 after the game is release?

The Bestbuy, Gamestop, and Wall-Marts I have gone to all charge a reserve fee, AKA the pre-order fee of $5.

I understand what your saying about multiple bonuses being different depending on the retailer, but that’s the thing, most retailers work with the publishers for that content to try to attract customers. So your going to have that. All I’m saying is keep it exclusive or have it day one for everybody, I don’t want timed exclusives.

I’m not going to even bother trying to explain how preordering games work to you… I have a very good feeling it’d be extremely pointless.

I’ve stated my reasons why I agree with what 343i is doing, and you people have stated why you want preorder bonuses to be a one time deal, and I’m going to leave that to you guys. But at the end of the day, 343i and Microsoft are the ones who pull the strings, so you can either deal with it, or find a better way to get them to change their minds than complain on a public forum.

If they made it Free (Yes I’m sticking with they’re FREE), to those who preorder them, and then made them paid DLC for everyone else, I’ll be okay with, that’s a even smarter way of doing things, but with what they’re doing with the bonuses, they need to at lest give those of us who don’t like the idea of having to pick and choice our store to preorder from because of limitations and not get what we want, a chance to get what we want.
