Would You Have Waited?

My question is, would you guys prefer Halo 4 on the Xbox 720, whenever it comes out? Or are you okay with it coming to 360? I wouldn’t mind for either. I’d love to see Halo 4 come to the 720 and it being one of the first titles for the new console. But on the other hand, I want Halo 4 to come out ASAP for the 360.

Thoughts?

I think that if halo 4 would’ve been made for the next xbox, there wouldn’t be enough people willing to buy it when it is finally released.

I think quite the opposite. What would have been a better way to get people buy a new console than a new game of a new trilogy of Microsoft’s biggest franchise? Surely, they would have boosted the console sales by a few million if Halo 4 had released as a launch title.

yeah but only die-hard halo fans would buy it. everyone else will have moved to the game that fills the void left by halo’s absence. it would struggle to squeeze back in.

I don’t think so. People would eventually end up buying the new console anyway, so why not combine it with a game you like, that’s two birds with one stone. I doubt that only die hard Halo fans would buy a new Xbox if Halo was a launch title. Because by that logic, if there was a new Xbox that had no big launch title, no one would buy it and that’s not true.

People would already buy the console because it was a new Xbox after getting the last one over seven years ago (although, I don’t think many people have an Xbox that would’ve lasted that long), having a new Halo game would, for many people, serve as an extra reason to buy a new console, and those people wouldn’t be limited to die hard Halo fans.

After all, Halo is still a big popular franchise and has many fans. but my main point is that a new console alone would get people to buy it, a new Halo game bundled with the Xbox would be an even better reason.

hmmmmm. I suppose it would have worked but the risk of being forgotten would have been pretty big still. and no xbox can last 1 year without some sort of problem.

Well, at least this is something we both can agree on. I still remember the time when my Xbox managed to break it’s own disk drive, fortunately I have had no problems after it was fixed. I kind of miss those times, every time I put I disk in, I was afraid the Xbox would scratch the disk, but it never did.

But anyway, I believe that at this point of 360’s lifespan, most people would be willing to take a new console. I personally got bored with the limited power of 360 a year ago and would be happy to take a new console even if it didn’t have Halo game as a launch title.

but I’m not denying your point. But to quarantee sales, Microsoft could very well have made Halo 4 for both consoles, although with online multiplayer, I don’t know how that could work out as the version for the new Xbox would have to be limited in the feature departement as the 360 couldn’t run all the fancy features that can be accomplished with the new console. It would have ended up with the version for the new Xbox to be the 360 version with better graphics. That wouldn’t have been good.

I’m glad its for the 360. That means I don’t have to waste money on a new system. I only play XBox once or twice a week, so I don’t want to go out and spend all that money just to keep up with Halo until absolutely necessary (meaning,m probably Halo 5).

I doubt the next Xbox will be out by the end of 2012, not with games like Halo 4 and GTA 5 coming out for the 360 at the same time. But to answer your question, I would have gladly waited for Halo 4 on the next console because the 360 is so dated.

I love that Halo 4 is coming out on the 360.
I just don’t have the money right now to spend on a new console.
But I do have the feeling that Halo 5 will be with the xbox 720.

Yeah I could’ve waited ant it would’ve made a good launch title for the new Xbox.

I’m okay with Halo 4 being on the 360. It would be kind of annoying waiting for it to be made on the 720, but if it’s going to make the game better…I don’t mind waiting.

I would have preferred it to be on the 720 or whatever it’s going to be called. There’s already too many Halos this generation. Halo 3, ODST, Wars, Reach, Anniversary, and now 4… way to turn it into CoD with annual releases.

Halo 5 should be a launch title.

Im pefectly fine with the 360 launch. Honestly, CEA was great. Im loving it, but I don’t think it would keep me occupied another year or two while waiting for Halo 4. And I recently got the Xbox Slim, as a present. I feel that it would have been a dumb gift if I was gonna use it for only a year or two, then stop playing it. Then I gotta buy the “Xbox 720”, and hook it up to the TV. (Which is harder than it would sound, because my TV is in a bad spot for that stuff.) I think Halo 4 will be a good going away present for the Xbox 360. And, if finished around that time… Halo 5 should definetly be a launch title! But I really don’t want to rush Halo 5.

Remember that Halo 2 was launched on the original Xbox in November 2004 and the Xbox360 was released in November 2005, a year later. Then it was almost 2 years after the 360 that Halo 3 was released.

If this progression is anything to go by then the ‘Xbox720’ would be released late 2013, and then Halo 5 (if made) would be released in 2015.

This is just unfounded speculation, however judging by the time-scales and current projects (e.g Kinect 2.0) would be a reasonable presumption to make.

However this is in the distant future, there are better things to do than stare at a clock and waiting for these releases
