Would you guys want Firefight to come back?

I personally think that it was an amazing addition to halo and should return with new modes and mechanics.

Thoughts?

I’d love to see it come back, for sure. Spartan Ops wasn’t a terrible concept, but it was a watered-down Firefight trying to act like a true Campaign with some shiny cutscenes.

I want it to come back, but I would like it somehow possibly integrated into standard multiplayer. It would allow AI to interact in standard games, as well as editable features in the Forge mode.

Firefight would become a gametype instead of its own game mode, allowing for many more possibilities than the ones we’re familiar with in Halo 3, Halo: Reach, and Halo 4, being the ultimate innovative feature of Halo on Xbox One.

Firefight was a GREAT offline activity. Anyone at 343i that thought Spartan Ops would be a substitute was misguided. There always needs to be something there beyond campaign for people that don’t have Gold.

yes and no , but i would like to see if spartan ops can be improved first if they decide to continue it if that makes sense.

That’s another thing. It’s extremely disappointing to see that Spartan Ops, which was supposed to be the full and new embodiment of Firefight, required not only Gold, but an online connection to play.

Last I heard, it was due to agreement 343i made with Xbox so that it wasn’t paid DLC. The idea should have been discarded there and then on such terms, but it wasn’t.

If it going to return then make it like halo odst, reach firefight was boring.

The cutscenes you must admit however were extremely well done.

I want Firefight back. It would be nice to have different modes like Fighting the flood, and being able to choose what speices to play as. Like spartan, or ODST.

Firefight had better replay value over SpOps. I didn’t even finish SpOps, sorry to say. But I’d still be playing Firefight as a welcome break from multiplayer, that’s for sure.

So yeah, Firefight all the way. Arcadefight was like McDonalds food… turn off the brain and just enjoy.

Fire fight was spartan ops with no aim, story or incentive. Horde modes are always inferior to tower defense type games like -Yoink!- zombies in my opinion. Spartan ops is a good concept that just needs improvement. I would be much happier if spartan ops came back, although a new name would be nice.

If spartan ops had more variety between missions and more SOPS specific maps, then I wouldn’t mind seeing it again. I like the idea of weekly missions. It was just executed very, very, very poorly. I do believe, however, that they could probably exist together.

I personally loved Spartan Ops. I think it was what Halo 4 needed. I want to see it return, with the inclusion of Sangeheili character models. Firefight was just alright, I think. I liked it but it didn’t hold my attention all that long. I just wanted to Forge my own barricades and fortifications, and then battle wave after wave lf Covenant forces, but we never got that.

Guys…guys…guys…just think…for a moment… How about this… How about firefight is combined with custom games/forge AND we get Spartan Ops? Imagine the possibilities.

I want firefight back. And I mean real hard firefight with cool achievements like in ODST. Not the Infinity Rocket spamming -yoink- we had in reach.

If firefight does return i’d probably never play it. I found it much to repetitive for my liking.

I would rather have them focus their assets on creating something fresh; a new mode that will become a staple feature in Halo shooters like forge and theater mode did. I don’t think Firefight ever received the popularity necessary to achieve that status.

If they do let us forge our own firefight the possibilities would be immense. It would also help machinma directors create more authentic battle scenes.

That, along with SpOps, in Halo 5 would make my day. However, I want to see separate commendations like in Reach.

An old idea from the b.net reach forums was Firefight Forge.

You place enemy spawn points, weapon pickups, design areas to hold out and what type of enemies you will be fighting, etc…

The possibilities of this concept truly are endless.

One thing Reach got wrong however, was keeping multiplayer maps and firefight maps separate. They should either design maps primarily for each game mode but make them useable in both, or just go the gears of war route and design the maps for both game modes (Though this usually proves tricky to implement right).

No, I want spartan ops to be fixed, firefight was only fun with “limited” gametypes and even that got old pretty fast.

Imagine a challenging spartan ops with varied gameplay, dynamic storytelling and long term episodic content.
A second campaign with continuous dlc expansion, you know, like we originally thought it was going to be.
