Would you enjoy a thirdperson feature in Halo

I have always wanted to have an over the shoulder view in Halo games. ( like in theater mode ) After all, what is the point of endless customization if you can only see it upon your sudden and unsuspected demise. There was an unused skull in Halo 3 ODST that was eventually scrapped, but I can not understand why? This is just my opinion however, and I am interested in all of yours.

Lets move from Call of Halo to Gears of Halo, good idea.

Short answer, no.

So basically, you want the ability to switch from first person, to third person view? Wouldn’t that just defeat the purpose of having it under the FPS genre? They have Third person view for turrets, so i don’t see the point really…

It could make some interesting game modes and customs ideas with this

I can see where you are coming from, but there are many other games that use this feature effectively other than the ones listed. I am against custom load outs, but third person view will always have a special place in my heart, and I personally believe that with all of the great customization in Halo that it would be a great addition. But that is my opinion and you are entitled to yours.

Halo is a first person shooter, not third.

Mabyit could be an unlockable feature, IDK. Halo will always have a special place in my heart, but I also believe that without some new things it will grow stagnant, like COD. Pitty.

So your way of innovating is to turn Halo from an FPS to a third person shooter?

As an option yes. However I can see that you want things to remain forever the same in Halo, a request that you will never receive. I love the core halo gameplay, but do not understand why people can not have fun little features in a game, or more choices. Ex. Skulls, armor effects, etc. just something for the players personal preference.

Asking for an FPS to stay an FPS is not asking for everything to remain forever the same.

> Halo is a first person shooter, not third.

This.

So, no.

If this feature was implemented you would not have to choose it, like I said just for preference, like controller layout. Also Spartan assault and halo wars are both in third person, it has already stopped being an all first person genera.

> Halo is a first person shooter, not third.

Halo wasn’t an RTS, yet we still had Halo Wars. It also wasn’t a Top down shooter, yet we still got spartan assault.

I don’t see the point in holding Halo to one viewing format. Seems logical to me to explore other styles, especially considering it’s been done already. I mean, as a sad game, it couldn’t hurt, could it?

Actually, they are not third person, but that is hardly the point.

Do you realise how much more situational awareness a TPS player would have over a FPS player due to this?

Wall Hack 3.0

Then don’t make it a main game. Heck, make it primarily online campaign based and focus on third person stealth infiltration missions. Base it off of the Spartan stealth missions while fighting the insurrectionists.

Couldn’t hurt to find a unique way to explore that side of the universe.

Promie vision.

I interpreted the OP as speaking about the main game, not a spin off. In which case, I stand by my point that Halo is an FPS.

Ah! A fellow fan with the ability to think outside of the box.

Side game, perfectly ok, same as I am ok for Infinity to get the boot from main Halo and become its own game,

Promie Vision is Wall Hack 2.0

Fair enough.

Either one or the other would be good with me, I just want to see my dude while I’m playing. Otherwise I see most customization as useless. What is the fun of only being able to see your armor on a corpse.
