So, I had a thought yesterday, and it seemed so amazing I had trouble sleeping cuz I kept thinking about it. What if Halo met Battlefront? Not literally, but a Halo theme, set in a Star Wars: Battlefront styled game.
So, the first thought was, since Star Wars Battlefront is being built by DICE, how could they implement destructible objects in it, like Battlefield. I figured that if they could make corridors on the Ships in a space battle destructible via fighters attacking outside, it would be very interesting…
That got me thinking somehow on another idea… What if you could have Halo battles on such a massive scale? So, replace the Star Destroyers and Rebel ships with Halcyon-class Cruisers and Covenant Battlecruisers, and you can have a seriously awesome scene set up. You could also take a Pelican or some other ship and board the other, fighting through corridors to find stuff like the engine room, or defense systems.
Then I thought of how Battlefront 3 was going to put Space and Ground battles in the same fight, and be able to fly a ship down to join the other. What if you could grab a Pelican and some other Spartans and took to the surface, maybe dropping a Warthog for supplies and reinforcements. Tank battles and Dogfights all over the map…
I also thought about the AI system, and figured to fill in the spaces, you could take something like Titanfall did, and give both sides lesser AIs. Give Humans regular Marines, and the Covenant Grunts and Jackals.
And it all could play like a real Halo game, with the feel of both Matchmaking and Campaign all in one.
