Would you buy a Halo game that's in two parts?

So, this isn’t a rumor discussion(As that would be locked down fast.), I’m just genuinely curious as to what you all would do if a future Halo game were released in two parts(One campaign, one multiplayer, either separated by a year or released at the same time.), with or without more content than would be possible if both were combined.

I would. I’m going to buy Cyberpunk 2077 ? From what we’ve seen, it looks like CD Projekt Red are going to do that, or something similar. However, that’s a new IP. It might also work for a Halo game. I know many players that only buy Halo for the multiplayer, and I know just as many that only want a campaign and cannot be bothered with multiplayer. I think it’s a great idea. Many might not agree.

For me I would decide on a case by case basis. If I felt it was a nickel and dime model I would probably pass. If it was more of a more development time needed for better quality then I would be more supportive of the idea.

Yeah I would, depending on the size of both games.

Yeah was thinking abou this recently😆I think we could get 2 games for each new numbered Halo. One where we play as UNSC and the other where we play as Elites. So now we have Halo 5 Guardians then this year we become Halo 5 “something” playing as Elites and with Elites Customizations and Warzone, and the same for Halo 6.Two games for each Halo numbered game.

This seems like a slippery slope, OP.

For me, I’d have to wonder how big a Halo game could be if they did decide to make campaign and multiplayer separate in future games. It could potentially be huge with content, but I kind of think they would go the route where it’s on one disc and you can just choose to install either one or both like MCC is doing.

That question was already asked in this topic:

I would actually like 2 separate discs. One for multiplayer and the other for campaign. I want the campaign so big, vast, exploratory, and long that it takes an entire disc on its own.

I don’t see the point. Typically you have a campaign mode team that dies the campaign and then a multiplayer team that dies multiplayer, because there are already seperate teams, I don’t see why the game should be split as they’re not taking from each other.

then there’s the issue of price justification. Are you charging only 30$ for multiplayer only or 60$? 30$ will be more persuasive where as people will question the 60$ tag, that also depends on how big you make it however. So let’s pretend halo 5 launched with the campaign and multiplayer being seperate, what would you deem as a good price? How long was halo 5s campaign? 5-6 hours? To me that’s 20$, multiplayer would be just as much, especially on launch when you’ve got delayed modes and various modes that were added later on.

i don’t see a reason to split the two as I don’t see an issue with the current model. If people don’t like campaign then don’t play it, Vice versa for the MP. if you don’t think 60$ is worth it just to play one side, wait for sales.

people should also be aware that separating the two doesn’t mean they’ll be bigger, like I said, games typically have a SP group and a multiplayer team that already dies their own respective job so if they’re already seperate that way, separating the modes does little to help in content as it’s not like the campaign team also has to work on multiplayer just cause the two are on one disc.

I wouldn’t.

The idea of splitting up a game is just ridiculous to be honest. If you only play MP, you can do so even if the SP is included on the disk.
No, I’d say the better way would be to either go full MP (which I then wouldn’t buy because I don’t support that business model, feel campaign is essential to Halo and don’t have time for endless online grinds) or go the traditional route.

Only if both the campaign and the multiplayer are both REALLY damn good…

If it’s separated by a year or more, I wouldn’t really consider it a game with two or more parts. More like a game that came out a year ago and now has a sequel. If they release two different parts, I’d want a full campaign for each and a shared multiplayer experience.

I don’t know that I like having a main entry with two or more parts, though. I’d prefer a spin off.

I’d rather they didn’t. I didn’t like when Halo 5 sort of did this when a major chunk of the game was missing at launch, wasn’t happy when Odst was missing an Odst style multiplayer, it did kind of confuse me further when they removed Firefight from Odst in MCC so I’d rather they just release a full game with both campaign, multiplayer.

Removing either just seems odd for a Halo game.

If they released campaign and multiplayer separately then I’d be done with multiplayer for good. It’s a bonus for me, and not something I’d ever buy on its own. That doesn’t just go for Halo, I’ll never spend money on something that is multiplayer only or always online. No matter how good it is, it has a limited lifespan which makes it pretty much worthless to me.

If I can get them both at the same price, or cheaper than the normal price of a standard Halo game then I don’t see why not.
Similarly, I don’t see why it should be split in the first place.

Id rather just get it all in one purchase, it saves time, and quite frankly that’s the one thing we don’t have much of

Nah… That would be a money grab. Pay double for what we pay single for now.

Yes, as long as they aren’t both $60. If the multiplayer and campaign are split I expect the price to be as well. Maybe campaign part be $40 And multiplayer be $20 or something. And if the campaign is on it’s own I’m expecting a longer and better campaign than most previous halos. If the bigger campaign means the campaign disc would cost $50 rather than $40 then that’s ok

I dunno, I would definitely prioritise the Campaign over the multiplayer. It’s all down to how good they both are.

Would they both be full price or half each? If half price then sure why not. If full price I don’t know, I’d be pissed and they’d have to be of crazy high quality, games are $80 CDN here lol
