would you boot a team-mate from a game...

if they jumped in the wraith at the start of Vortex on BTB & proceeded to get over half of your teams points?
(blue team had 640 points, I had 32 kills & red team had 530 points)
It wasn’t my fault my team-mates where getting in the way of the vehicle.
I was 1st with my personal score of 605 points, 32 kills & the next best on my team had 125 points & 8 kills!

I was headed for possibly my biggest perfection when 1 of the few I had betrayed by ACCIDENTLY splattering them booted me the m0f0’s!
BTW my team lost after I was booted lmfao serves them right.
My stats in game history shows I actually got 35 kills & 680 points before I was booted, as I mentioned Blue team was winning 640-520 when I was booted & went on to lose 1000-920 hahahahaha
& even tho I was booted my stats show I still had most kills & most points on both sides lol

p.s. the game up to me being booted is in my file share named 32-0 then booted

Depends on the mood I’m in, but yeah if I’m betrayed by an overzealous teammate He gets the boot.

erm if someone is in a huge dark blue vehicle that’s firing white plasma mortars out of the top of it then surely the guys who not in the fore mentioned vehicle should get out of its way.
By all means offer protection to it but as it turns like a beached whale but dont stand right next to it & not expect to be splattered by it at some point.
I’m watching my radar for red dots & turning as fast as I can to kill the enemy before they destroy my ride.
If your stood next to me while I try & take out 3 or 4 of the enemy then surely thats your fault for trying to get in a turret that is already occupied or hitch a free ride…

I would easily boot, no question
in those couple of seconds of getting betrayed and killed
I wouldn’t look or care who it was or how well they were doing, I would boot

unless it was a friend of mine, and not someone online I don’t know, I would always choose the boot option

I have been betrayed by team-mates just so they can claim a power weapon I had called in or picked up.
Once it happened twice by the same guy for an incineration cannon in the space of me dying & getting back to where I died to reclaim it, he splattered me again as he hadnt found where it had dropped!
I didnt boot him, I just carried on after the 2nd time & then submitted a review to avoid him after the game!

I have had people betray me in the past because I was on a spree, had a sniper/wraith or on for a perfection. This is mainly Halo Reach but in objective playlists I have been booted almost instantly by a player who walked in front of my Boltshot. I almost never boot unless it was clearly on purpose because otherwise its usually an accident and I would be an idiot to boot otherwise. Some people just boot the moment they have a chance and its complete bull when they do.

I totally agree, all of my betrayals have been accidents.
ok in layman terms the damn fools walked out in front of my vehicle haha
joking aside I always try & avoid team-mates when driving but some just dont get the concept that I really should keep moving & not sit still & wait for them to cross in front of me!

Unless I can tell it was by accident than no. But if I cant tell or if it was on purpose than I shall boot.

In this situation I would have booted you. You should be careful where you’re going and shooting. Its not their fault so stop blaming it on people for your mistakes.

What? OP was in the Wraith! Bigger vehicles have the right-of-way. If you’re on the ground near a bigger vehicle it’s YOUR fault for getting in the way!

The only time I boot is if said person is actively trying to kill me.

In Reach, I got so ticked off at the fact that I got kicked out for the stupidest reasons ALL THE DARN TIME that I just started to boot everyone, no matter what.

IMO Halo 4 betrayal system is a lot better. I see a lot less people intentionally betraying one another, and the kick option coming up a lot less. I only boot teammates when they intentionally do it two times or destroy my Perfection.

Running over teammates no matter your performance is unsportsmanlike. I’d consider it if it happened to me more than once, but I like to think I’m more understanding of accidental betrayals than most… But how do you know it wasn’t an automatic boot? (Halo 4 has automatic boots, right?)

If someone betrays me on accident, that’s fine. But, if I’m betrayed twice, I don’t care if it was an accident or not, I’m booting my teammate (but not b4 I betray them back).

It depends how careless that person was. If killing people was more important to him than making sure his team stayed alive then yeah. Examples:

  • If you had a rocket and there was an enemy and a team mate, and you killed them both just for the kill then that’s wrong.

  • If your in a wraith and there is an enemy in front of you but you can see a player who hasn’t seen you about to run in your path, but you go for the splatter anyway and kill both, then that’s wrong.

Too be honest you get a lot more betrayals in Halo 4. In previous titles it was 1 betrayal and you would get that back after a certain period of time. In Halo 4 if you have been given the option to boot someone, it means that person is frequently betraying. So yes, I would boot you.

I only boot if somebody repeatedly keeps -Yoinking!- me up.

So if they kill me 3 or more times and I feel it’s on purpose, I get the boot.

90% of the time a boot option comes up, I don’t press it. That’s really just stupid and I don’t want to piss somebody else off because I know it sucks when it happens to me.

I never boot a player unless I know for a fact that it was on purpose. In your case, I could clearly tell that it was an accident on your part, and I wouldn’t boot.

A lot of people are way too quick to press on the boot button when they get betrayed, just pressing the button without taking a moment to think about what just happened. Like in your case, they put themselves in your way, it’s clearly their fault that they got betrayed.

I always boot, especially if it was clearly an accident since that’s even funnier :stuck_out_tongue:

Only joking! I only boot if it is clearly deliberate, like someone killing me for a sniper or rockets. Also, maybe if someone’s run me over a few times in a vehicle since they’re obviously just not being careful, but in your case, no, I wouldn’t have booted.

Accidentals-I give them a second chance, but thats it.
Intentionals-Immediate boot. Don’t care how much they cry and whine when they did it intentionally, I don’t take too kindly to being betrayed when they meant it.

yes.

Some people just amaze me. People boot if the screen even comes up? I only boot if I know it was on purpose. I think I’ve only actually booted people once or twice. I rarely even get the screen.

@Pulvis Ira Halo 4 doesn’t have automatic boots. You can only get booted if someone chooses to boot you.

If I get accidently betrayed, no. Maybe yes if I wanted to piss someone off, but probably not.

I will boot if someone kills me just because they want a weapon I have, which is very annoying.
