Over the summer the 343 community hosted a tournament which was a great deal of fun for me and everyone who participated. I feel there’s no better way to unite a community than to sit down and play some halo together. As for the settings, I was thinking 4v4 Gold Pro or MLG, but I am open to suggestions in order to make the tournament more accessible.
I want to see the interest level of the community to be sure that this isn’t a waste of my time to host. So if you are interested, please post ITT.
I’m interested. I love the new MLG settings, however my “clan” members aren’t fond of the gametype. We always use zero bloom, but I have created a gametypes where the magnum is five headshot kill w/ zero bloom. We can test it if you like. I have CTF, KOTH and slayer variants.
I think these gametypes work better than the anniversary ones mainly due to lack of bloom.
No one is playing a map or game-type set up for intense competitive settings.
Therefore those that already play regularly in team rotations with said ICSs don’t have an overt advantage in a friendly tournament.
The idea is to kick’er down with Halo and have a good time for all.
Not sure how yourself not liking the idea without the input of others yet to come is an indication of low demand.
I’ll gladly accept others input in stating they want to play in a 4x4 over Invasion when they do indeed say so.
In the meantime, you asked for a more accessible experience, I gave a suggestion. Now I’m suggesting you let the idea you started grow organically as you first implied you would.

I gave my feedback on the suggestion, don’t take it so personally.
Invasion is a niche gametype with a smaller following than competitive Halo. On top of that, players with an inclination to join up in an online tournament are not casual. I’m doing my best to cater to my audience, and your suggestion does not do that.

Nothing personal taken. I just figured you were going to go by suggestion by those that would participate, not by those that aren’t.
But something of note, Invasion’s online population is usually above MLG’s at almost any given moment.
I think Arena is almost always higher than Invasion, but MLG is almost always below it.

With the updated settings, the MLG population is 3x that of Arena’s. When MLG still had bloom you were correct, but it has changed since the update.
