This forum was once flooded with rank topics , but since I have taken several months’ break from keeping up with Halo 4, all thoughts on it seem to have disappeared. Will there be a skill-based ranking system, a la the Arena or 1-50? Link a source or something. I can’t find anything. IGN’s Halo 4 Wiki says that there will be a 1-50 system … but I distinctly remember Frankie saying something different. Would someone please clear this up?

All we know is that there’s going to be both a progressive ranking system and a skill based ranking system that’s NOT 1-50. Beyond that, we don’t know yet.

That’s not the case for everyone. I’m a highly competitive individual. I’ve had many 50s in Halo 3 and several seasons of 1% Onyx in Reach, and I quit playing as soon as the Arena’s population died. Unequally matched games aren’t fun for me. They may be for you, but I like to be challenged. If it doesn’t get my blood pumping, I’ll get bored.

Lol yeah, some people think “fun” is only defined the way they see it.
On topic, I’m worried that Halo 4’s ranking system will be too similar to Reach’s progressive system. Personally, I don’t mind if Arena returns (1-50 preferably, but won’t happen) or some variant of it that is more competitive this time around.
