For the record, I think Halo 4 is awesome. But do you think these issues many players are having would have been as bad had there been an open beta?
The general consensus is that this is the open beta for the Holiday crowd. Problem is word gets around and my local gamestop has plenty of Halo4 already in the used section.
Open betas are always a good idea and should really just be an industry standard by now. There is no reason to not have one.
I think working more on the game would have been better than a beta.

I agree
An open Beta would have added more polish.
Obvious issues have yet to be addressed. I for one am waiting for a massive TU such as the one that saved Halo 2.
No
99% of players just want the beta to play and never report a single error they have.

*Gives the Nancy Kerrigan
If just one issue is fixed because of an open beta, than it was worth it.

not true at all, but nice try… people are constantly pointing out issues and glitches, the issues with haven and complex were found with in 2 days of the release
I’m 50/50 on it, some of the issues (Exploits, Balancing of the sandbox) would have been fixed by a open beta BUT at the same time we would have heard the complaining about how drastically different the game is alot sooner and then they might have reverted gameplay back and we could have ended up with a Halo 3.1 (which I for one don’t want-loved H3 btw so not trashing it)
Halo reach public beta great game
Halo3 public beta some people say best halo ever.
Halo4 is an expensive public beta.
Halo5 will be so good.
