now before I start, I know that Microsoft own rights to halo, they would have to sell it to Sony or more likely buy third party rights or whatever so yeah. Porting halo 5 to ps4 would first of all cost a development team, meaning they would have to pay a third party team to make the ps4 port. Another fact is that xbox one sales would probably plummet to nothingness, I will get onto community division in a minute but essentially ps4 will ruin xbox population, so halo sells xbox ones, I mean we can lie about it, but I mean now there is Minecraft and more indie game support on ps4 (btw wasn’t Microsoft buying Minecraft for 2.6bn of something?) so they don’t hold there arcade that high, so yeah, that isn’t as big of a factor unless you count the $1 avatar paintball games… Anyway that’s that, as I said the community will be divided, so imagine now, MCC’s population, imagine if 3/4 was gone because of ps4… Yep. That’s litterally like only h2a and team slayer you can find a game now. And not just that, but it will sell the ps4 better which apparently has better specs so yeah. I mean Microsoft would earn shares of money earned on ps4 port but they might as well port to pc for games for windows live reboot. HAH.
now onto positives… More people will enjoy halo, this may sell xbox ones so that they can try out mcc or even buy a 360. Halo itself will probably earn more money and probably will run on ps servers so that xbox can put there servers into cod or fifa or some overhyped repetitive annual release game. I mean I played fifa 14 online last year and it wad nearly as bad as bf4 at launch… Jk that was real -Yoink-. Umm yeah… I cant think of more pros or cons so…
if you can think of some more pros or cons share below, also this is never going to happen, so don’t hate, I know, but its a discussion, we can discuss an alien invasion in 3 hours, probably ain’t gonna happen, but we can still discuss, so keep it constructive because I will report for non constructive comments because I’m tired of people just typing ‘you are wrong’ and leaving it at that. With that sad, discuss, in a mature manner.
This isn’t even going to happen. Ever. Why is this posted?
I say it would sell alot on PS4’s. PS4 has been selling through the roof. One reason CoD has been so successful is due to the fact that it sells on all platforms.

well you read my post, I even put it in bold.

yeah I think it would sell on ps4 but my concern is Microsoft might lose profit because of the lack of xb1 selling, as I mentioned, halo sells xb1, if halo isn’t exclusive, then xb1 might as well die.

Again, this isn’t constructive. Instead, it’s merely another thread on the forums that really don’t belong here. Yes, it may be ‘about halo 5’, but it’s not really necessary. At all. Hence my comment. I didn’t put it in bold.
More money perhaps, but it would hurt their own Console in the long run. They are competitive with Sony, they wouldn’t give their #1 exclusive over and make Sony even better. Sony would generate a lot more sales than Xbox, and they already do that.

that’s what I was thinking, I had a crazy thought for instead of ps4, the wii U, with the wii u pro controller it is possible but like xD really, I mean watchdogs and cod are bad enough.
In the short term.
In the long term, boosting the sales of your competitor’s console with your own flagship title isn’t exactly a wise business practice.

they could sign a 3 month beta contract to see how it works but I think that would he pointless. And ofcourse it is good business practice, they got -Yoink- loads of money, might as well spend it on something, like dedicated servers instead of ea peice of (murmured ea server hate for 7 paragraphs)
Microsoft would gain profit with the game but overall would not gain. Halo is an exclusive game to sell Xbox Ones. The more people who buy an Xbox One for halo, the more spending $500 to Microsoft.

I don’t think you understand my point.
The PS4 is outselling the Xbox One, while a lot of people are already less than thrilled with the Xbox One itself in the first place. If you put Halo 5 on the PS4, that’s even more incentive to buy a PS4 and even less to buy an Xbox. Sure the game will sell well, but Microsoft is far more concerned with pushing consoles.
There is one situation I could ever see something like this being profitable, and that is if Microsoft decides to pull out of the console market entirely and only produce games for other systems instead (see Sega).

I don’t think that will happen, I don’t think there will be an xbox after the One but oh well. Besides Sega have sort of failed, I mean the sega genesis was well… YeAh and they have overmilked sonic. I still prefer the old sonics, you know the ones where you cant see the actual map and you have to jump and slide on the reaction, much more preferable reaction test than cod
I’ll bite. -Yoink!- would profit so much that it would Threaten Destiny and kill Killzone. Lol
Okay, with all the console rivalry going on, I don’t think Microsoft will want to hand over their biggest game franchise to their fiercest competitor!

another one who didn’t read bold. I know this is never going to happen but this was supposed to be a discussion for pros and cons.
I think in the end that Microsoft cares about halo because of its pushing of the xbox brand. They didn’t make 343 out of the goodness of their hearts. They made 343 to make more halo games to push more xboxes. I don’t mean this in a derogatory way, its simply the truth of things.
Thus, if Halo went cross-platform seriously, especially over to a competitior like Sony, Microsoft would probably stop supporting the franchise.
There arn’t many pros to it. Sure they’d make money for the rights, but the game also sells their own system. I’m sure a tonne of people will buy a Halo5 bundle and they’re not gonna pass that up.

you are on the right lines.
Guys what about like an indie style game, like say spartan strike comes to ps4 a week before xbox or something like that or idk.
I have no idea why you’re trying to convince people that this is a great idea because it’s pretty much never going to happen. It’s not even worth discussing. But if you want to…

This sums it up pretty good.
