I think it’d be a neat touch to add a Req-gifting system to enable us to give Reqs to our friends who are struggling to unlock basic items/certs or even just to a randomly met teammate who was nice and fun to play with. Just a charitable thought…
(While some of the forum regulars are time-wealthy and loaded with Req points, many of us average players eke out only a few Reqs from the single-digit hours of playtime per week.)
I completely agree. This would be great.
Yea I’d agree with this. Often times I have stupid amounts of something and a friend who has like 1 and doesn’t want to use it.

I wonder how difficult it would be for the dev to implement?
Would you be gifting them REQ packs or REQ cards? I could see this being used more for trading.

I don’t know, but it would be worth their time. For one thing, newer players would be more likely to stick with Halo instead of getting frustrated with Warzone because they don’t have anything to use in it.
At the very least, they should implement a trading system. I mean, they are supposed to be req cards, right? Since I play WZFF a lot, I would love to be able to trade most of my power weapons for vehicles…
I’m only on PC, and yesterday I got 2 prophets’ banes in my daily Req pack… So I’d really like a trading system.

I initially was thinking of packs, but your and Nate 00000000000’s posts got me on board with card trading. It would be awesome for one friend who needs stronger early game weapons to trade with another friend who needs more vehicles. And the trading forum could even be supported by banner/side column ads to compensate the dev for making it possible.

Within a week there would be people on Ebay with adverts. “x amount of cash and I’ll gift you this nornfang.” Spartan company leaders would demand gifted reqs to join or to not be kicked out. People would end up offering trades to kids or the gullible (Yeah I’ll give you ten whispered truths if you just give me that one phaeton) only to never actually pay out. It has the same problem that any kind of req trading system has, the same problem that a lot of MMOs with trading systems have, but a lot of kids play halo and I guarantee you that they would end up exploited by the worst parts of this community.
They should add Regen and bubble shields from halo 3 into warzone lol
It would be a great, however it won’t happen due to it would hinder the amount of REQ’s being spent to obtain. 343 would start to lose money due to people giving out their REQ’s.

Not necessarily. comedyshermit may be an expert at crushing dreams (why won’t you love me?!?) but this could still work if we could gift REQ packs. 343 could even spin this to their advantage. 10,000 Req points for a gold req pack, or 15,000 req points to gift a gold req pack.
I would love to be able to do something like this. Host tournaments/competitions in my affiliated spartan companies with prizes. It would be sweet.

Would that necessarily be bad? It just sounds like capitalism to me. I remember in the early days of Halo 4, people were selling codes for the pre-order armors on Ebay.

I wouldn’t mind being kicked out of a company like that…

I think this is something that could be solved by implementing a trading system such that both parties give up their req cards at the same time, and trades aren’t completed until both parties agree to it. Like how Pokemon trading works, maybe.
However, if it were simply a gifting system, then any trades would be done at your own risk. I think the issue of kids being gullible should be up to their parents to solve.
Yeah a gift/trade system would be nice. I feel bad when me and my friend play firefight. I have about 10 wraith ultras and all he has are gungooses and railguns
Not on the same line as gifting, but 343 creating a trade amount for each item in order to get higher powered ones, example: 3 Needlers=1 Talon of the Lost. Only make them eligible for the same type of weapon/vehicle just the more powerful upgraded version. Vehicles like the pheaton could also be used by exchanging random vehicle cards which would also work along the same lines a weapons and other vehicles.
I have tons of weapons and vehicles that I never use and wouldn’t mind trading some in for the upgraded versions.

That’s true! Gifting packs may not be directly item for item, but it would skip all of the potential downspiraling of a trading house mess. Prizes are another great idea: like giving lotto tickets as favors, but with immediate and actual gratification.

Can we have this work the opposite way, too? It would be really handy to trade a scorpion for two ghosts or something

True I use ghosts more than anything and wouldn’t mind getting more of those either. I’m sure a balance in how many Vehicles/weapons= this one would need a lot of thought so you don’t waste 20+ of one for just 1 of another.
I’d just troll and gift all of my mongoose / scout hogs and gungooses. “Hey buddy, enjoy all 178 mongeese!”
I kid, I like your idea. My childhood halo buddy just got an Xbox one and I’ve been trying to encourage him to get H5. (He won’t because no-split screen. He took it as a personal offense). I had thought about if he did though, how hopelessly outgunned he’d be in Warzone on those first few days… Would be cool to gift a bunch of SAW’s n’ needlers n’ Rockets n’stuff.
