I don’t think I need to tell you all that Halo 5 has a lot of potential. I’m pretty stoked for it personally. I’m hoping that 343 will soon decide to give us some more info regarding Halo 5 but the game’s at least a year away. Should we wait some more before 343 announces any concrete details on their game?
Seems like Microsoft is the only one in any hurry to get info on the new Halo out. 343i haven’t said anything about it to my knowledge.
We don’t want 343i feeling rushed to do anything too quick with this game so personally I am willing to wait till they are ready to give us some more info.
its an odd one, we usually get a teaser about a year and a half before it gets released and then it takes them a year to get more work done and then they start to release more stuff leading up to it
this one is completely differant, its said to be released early next year… so we only actually have around 7 months until release, so odviously they cant wait a year to start revealing stuff cos… the game will be out, so id say not just yet, give it a couple of months, problem is its going to have to be before the release of the console purely because it might boost numbers in buying by a little bit seeming halo is the xbox’s game… and we only have 4 months until release of the console so id say in 2 months they will start revealing in depth stuff!!
which is very very soon and also i reckon next month some time theyll release a trailer, like cinematic one of in-game cut scenes but odviously im just going by speculation :)but it is a very tricky one :S
I don’t want them to mention anything about it
Well, the Halo 4 Concept Art Trailer was released at Halo Fest in the same year as the initial teaser was released. I wouldn’t mind 343i doing something similar at PAX this year.

Its more likely releasing November of NEXT year, like pretty much every other numbered halo.
Source of it said its being released early next year?
Otherwise, November of next year makes their level of promotion perfectly in line with other halo games.
Maybe give us new information each month to keep us hyped. Not saying anything about a game will kill the buzz.
A small bit of info would be nice for the community, seeing as how 4 scared off a good chunk of it, also, release of Nov of next year is fine, they said they started working on it a little before 4’s release, so it’s well in the works.

Nowhere has it been said that the game would be released early next year. If anything, it will be released in the fall/Holidays, as every Halo game (with the exception of Halo Wars) has been before it.
I’m thinking that it will be a nice while before we see anything regarding the next Halo game, once again judging from the past. I wouldn’t expect to see any in-game footage until early next year, or any concrete details about the game itself until spring 2014.

Wrong.
All they said is 2014, and if they plan on having just one year of development we should all just quit Halo now before we get hurt by a terrible, rushed game. It’s going to come out around November again, September being the earliest.
OT: It’s going to be a looooong time, guys. A very long time. Hopefully they’ll officially reveal the game at the VGAs with a name and all and then we could start getting solid information a couple of months later and a first in-game reveal around March.
EDIT: Hopefully they’ll make a good ARG leading up to the reveal. That could be really fun. I have never participated in a Halo ARG before (I always came to know about it only when it was over).
As long as we get a beta of SOME kind in May (6 months before release) I’m happy.
I’m not going to blindly buy a product from a company that disappointed me the first time, especially when their are so many good games coming out next year.
If they have a beta, it shows 343i have confidence in showing us the product and are willing to listen to feedback. Info matters, but a multiplayer beta is my biggest concern, as I have no doubt they’ll nail the Campaign and co-op modes this time around.
And with 10x more processing power, we’ll definitely get good custom game options too.
If they really want to make up for their abysmal mistakes with Halo 4, they should be giving us UP TO THE MINUTE updates on what they are doing with the game. They lost their privilege of keeping the development a secret.
I don’t want them to say a word, maybe mention a few things about multiplayer (so maybe something like mentioning they have Classic and Infinity), the community doesn’t deserve to know anything imo

I kinda agree with this guy. Until they redeem themselves they’ve lost my trust.
I’d like to know a little more every couple months, but I certainly don’t want to be spoiled with information.
> I’d like to know a little more every couple months, but I certainly don’t want to be spoiled with information.
And speaking of spoiled, I’d love it if they could keep the main story plots to themselves this time. I don’t want to know every twist and turn of the campaign before playing the game (and this is without watching any of the ViDocs or videos about the game). Let’s keep the important parts a surprise to everybody who doesn’t stay completely off the internet, kind of like Bungie did with their Halo games.
But we can look forward to the new book in January and probably some more Forerunner books later on.

343i did a great job of that last time. It’s just that the game got leaked before hand. Without the leak, no one would have known about the Librarian, the Composer, Cortana’s death, Chief’s face, the Didact’s face and armor, and so much more. The launch trailers didn’t show much, and the ViDocs were just 343i chit chatting about how they came together with the game n stuff. The only way to get around leaks is to just go dark a month or so before the release. I have definitely learned that after spoiling Halo 4 for myself.
343i should just focus on getting the game perfect, not focus on the amount of information that should be released at what time. The wait for Halo 5 won’t be as long.

No, they really didn’t.
- Forerunner novels pumped up librarian and mention she’s alive (even though she actually isn’t), instantly made it pretty likely she’d be in game.
2)Composer was heavily talked about in the same book as above. The official achievement list was also revealed officialy, one of which mentioned the compose.
-
True, cortana’s death was a surprise.
-
Chief’s face isn’t shown much or really all that shocking.
-
The Didact’s appearance may have been kept secret, but the fact he’d be released and was the bad guy sure wasn’t.
Infinity was already covered in novels, and had its image plastered over various promotional stuff.
Our brand new enemies and weapons were all revealed through vidocs. I mean the only thing legitly surprising was cortana’s death.
