Now gonna lie, after seeing the aftermath of infinite, halo 3 anniversary might have been the right direction to go.

H3 was great sure, but MCC exists, why waste time and money on that theyd only mess with something and piss you all off, awful idea

Infinite. Mainly a solo campaign/coop player on most titles these days, and while I very much enjoy Halo 3, I vastly prefer having a new story and new mysteries to dive into. I’d love for Halo 3 to get some love someday, but it looks good enough for now, especially playing with DLDSR and AutoHDR. That, and I don’t want any Halo 3 project to take away from Infinite story DLC.

Halo 3 is my most played game of all time, but I’m ready for something different.
If anything Infinite feels like it’s improved on a lot of my issues with Halo 3.

H3: Anniversary would’ve had the same issues as Infinite without the possibility of coming back.

To flip this whole post on it’s head, a couple arguments against Halo 3 Anniversary go along the lines of “it doesn’t need a remaster” or “it will divert dev resources”.
Here’s a counter argument. Sure Halo 3 anniversary may have been unnecessary, but it’d be really cool and everyone knows it would sell super well too. If one was made it would bring in a tonne of money for 343/MS, it would have filled the content drought we had for so long that MCC has been trying to fill all this time. And, yes I know it’s a stretch but, thanks to the extra revenue made, maybe 343 could have hired less contract workers and more permanent staff when making Infinite, or maybe financially they’d be in a better state to make a game less microtransaction heavy, hence making the Infinite we got better than the one we have right now.
All I’m saying is, if H3 was remade in an alt universe it wouldn’t necessarily be one on the other and I for one would have loved to play a Halo 3 remaster, I also think there are arguements to be made that it could have had a positive effect on the whole franchise. But anyways this is all just a hypothetical lol. ofcourse I’d rather the Halo franchise is actually continued one way or another rather than just remade every 10 years lol
All I wanted was a connected story
And inovative new gameplay.
But I guess thats too much to ask for

Halo Infinite.
Halo 3: Anniversary would likely only exist for the sake of a graphical upgrade. New additions like a field-of-view slider or a Forge overhaul already exist on MCC. And achievements, skulls, terminals, and Xbox Live support are things Halo 3 already has.
Definitely Halo Infinite. I love Halo 3 but Infinite’s MP is so much more fun.
Halo 3 anniversary for sure. Just with the engine of Infinite despite it’s problems. I despise whatever was used to make 4 and 5 cause of that aesthetic. But it none of this sliding nonsense and these terrible gun selections, then I’ll take it.
i would’ve prefered halo 5 be ported over to pc, over the current state of infinite
At this point, I would have just preferred monetized battle passes and lots of new maps and content for Halo 3 and the other MCC games.
They clearly don’t know how to manage Halo Infinite, and I have zero confidence they will fix its fundamental flaws.

Definitely not Halo 3. It wasn’t my favourite at the time and I don’t think it’s aged well.
I would have preferred Infinite if the campaign had been more complete and the open world more interesting, but frankly I’m surprised they haven’t gone for Halo 3 Anniversary yet. Hope they aren’t waiting for the 20th anniversary…
but yes given the state of Infinite, Halo 3: Anniversary would have been more bang for my buck, and I would be happier to have it than this.
